what was with all the 100T hate i was seeing during the game? we're on the same team guys, the slot goes to the region
support your neighbors
zzzz
it's 5 team from Latam/Brazil and 5 from NA fighting for 3 spots to masters
they won't put sen vs t100
they will put sen vs loud, or 100t vs lev
to fight for that spot
if you can't understand it just makes the competitiveness bigger
also I doubt if americans will root for Loud when we're in masters...
yo moron, if ANY Americas team wins THIS EVENT, we get an EXTRA SLOT AT MASTERS. why would you want NA teams to lose this event when it lowers the chances of your favorite team making it to the next masters?
no shit we're not on the same side within the Americas league, but internationally we pretty much are
that's why us sensible Americas people need to band together and put an end to the stupid infighting, i constantly shit on people saying stupid stuff like that cause even though T2 NA is strong, I believe every Americas team has potential and should be in franchising (some just need to make a few changes)
my fault, wasn't watching vct when kru lost
but i did say this thread before the mibr game
https://www.vlr.gg/172685/imagine
i really do support all Americas teams, that's not a lie
i can only see the average braindead brazilian user commenting on this post lmao
ppl don't understand shit about what favors a whole region x what favors the team they cheer for, ofc i'll root for 100t (unless they're playing a br team or lev)
all i want is the extra slot so we can send loud, nrg, lev and sen to tokyo and farm emea.
Ok, most of the time I stand by my BR brothers, but my countrymen are just being stupid. We have to cheer the most for any team from the Americas league. If any team from the America's wins this event we will be the only region to have 4 slots. To simply, imagine if sentinels wins this event. The won't need to qualify for masters one again in the franchising, that could open up a spot for, i don't know, FURIA maybe.
tbh i'm not sure the winner of lock in directly qualifies to masters or not, but regardless
i think if you rank Americas teams from 1-10, any team within 3 ranks of each other could beat each other on any given day. I genuinely believe Furia could beat 100T, I believe SEN could beat LOUD, and I believe C9 (if they don't remove yay) could beat LEV
that extra slot could benefit any subregion tbh, it's not a guaranteed NA slot
T1 is an odd place for Americans, mainly cause sayaplayer and ban used to play in NA so they probably have fans here as well
normally i'd agree with you but i don't see that as disrespect, the same way i wouldn't see it disrespectful if you said Furia 2-0 SEN, you should root for your teams before other americas teams obviously
Cheering doesn't make any difference though. Everything that we say on this forum or in the streams is irrelevant to the competing teams. In the end, the best one will win, and that's it. You just cannot force people from Brazil/Latin America to root for NA teams that we don't like lol. Today's match was a banger, and in the end, I didn't care who won.
You are just mad at the fact that the very same people Americans insulted the whole year don't like NA teams back (what a surprise).
You reap what you sow.
Pros should be able to compete at their full potential no matter the place or crowd. I think the attending people should be free to support whoever they want. So, the decision to root or not is up to the Brazilians in the arena and not some random USA guys on this forum.
A lot of people cheer for teams not only based on their region but also on organizations, players, etc. I mean, it's totally okay to cheer for teams that have likeable players (Zeta, for example) rather than boring NA teams with almost no fanbase (EG lol).
I didn't mean to dismiss the efforts of the crowd at the event, i just didn't like the fact that some NA people tried to dictate where the crowd's support should go.
<3
Ok, but if you are Brazilian and want to increase your chances to go to masters, the logic tells you to cheer for any team from the America's league. You are not obligated, but you are not thinking with logic either.
Yes, Pros should be able to compete against the crowd, but it still makes a difference. That's why home games are considered an advantage, even if they are experienced players the pressure is higher for those against the crowd, it's common knowledge.
So don't forget what the non-brazilians did to us. If you really want to know why there is so much rejection from us, then let's go back to the past:
We are always first labeled as toxic, but you are the ones who always start. For example, i'll start with two Valorant's episodes only:
Zombs being xenophobic with BR region in 2021/2022. Then suddenly he "regrets" saying he loves BR region and is apologizing. The problem is: This happened at the same time that LOUD was having an amazing campaign to the point of being world champions. Coincidence? To me it smells like an attempt to acquire more visibility on the part of Brazilians and trying to convey an image of someone who has changed into a good person. So much so that the "apology" wasn't even accepted, after all we know it wasn't an apology. He wasn't sincere.
It has nothing to do with Americans (although is about LATAM), but Keznit being racist with us is something that we will not accept. And the punishment... shameful. Until today nothing happened to this "citizen".
Now... If we stop at the eSports scene in general, things get ugly, holy moly. Remember the case when Thorin, the CS:GO caster who falsely accused the Immortals team of partying before finals? And it almost ruined kng's career ? (Psychology in eSports was "taboo" years ago, so kng made a big mistake in not having a strong head, but he is not the main culprit in the story). It's true that he's British, but it's not new that the guy is xenophobic (or even racist) against Brazilians. Nothing happened with Thorin, but happened with Immortals team and mainly kng. The reason? We're frowned upon, after all, xenophobia screams loud. Because of this Immortals ended, kng almost retired, more xenophobia and racism against brazilians growing... to make matters even worse, that Immortals had a very good team that was a Major finalist. And they were the second best team in Brazil, behind SK Gaming - They had the potential to go head-to-head with SK Gaming and even be Major champions one day! But it was destroyed by no less than non-Brazilian people. Like Thorin or the xenophobic public.
In short, don't expect to see soon a possible future where we are really mates. I don't mind accepting that future, but I really would prefer that you reconsider your thinking of "we have to stick together because we are america" - after all, the big share of blame always lies with you non-brazilians. You're simply forgetting that the thing is uglier than it sounds in your view, to want to put the rivalry aside and make us sticking with you all.
No, we're not America. We're literally only us against everyone. Even LATAM (I don't know if you are aware, but LATAM is literally very racist against us Brazilians, especially Argentines). And the reason why we're all alone against everyone is very simple: we don't accept racism and xenophobia. just this.
Where is xenophobic statements? Just because i said Argentina is racist agaisnt Brazil? Where are the lies? You can see It in recent years in football, eSports and even in common situations. To make matters worse, it's not just in Brazil. There have been recent cases of racism in the Argentine Football Championship and they are alarming because, in addition to being on a large scale, there is no punishment.
I do not diminish the other regions, much less did I speak badly. I just pointed out that we suffer xenophobia from you non-brazilians. The point is: The guy above created a topic asking us to join this cause of cheering together. But he simply forgot that this is impossible for the MAJOR part of the Brazilian public. The reason is very simple, we are hated. We are the "bad guys", while non-Brazilians are the "good guys".
But forget it, after all, an Argentine who was born in a country where racism is rooted in the culture and seen as something normal, would never really understand what we feel in our skin with all this. Just because the Brazilian public rejects supporting another region because of racism and xenophobia we suffered for several years against these guys, are we treated as xenophobic? And you then? If there was a final with a Brazilian team against Europe, you would cheer for Europe. And I can say this with certainty because this is predominant in LATAM.
There is a big difference between xenophobia and supporting only one's own region because of the mistreatment by non-Brazilians who always paint us as toxic, inhuman and bad people. In this forum, you can see that there are always people talking bad about Brazil. Most aren't even fair, it's screaming xenophobia. And there is a big difference between rivalry and xenophobia too! For example, it would be rivalry for me to say that we are going to win 2-0 against Sentinels. What is xenophobic is me saying that Sentinels is a shitty team and that the NA region is just garbage because there are lack of professionalism. Like Zombs did with BR region. Or so Thorin did with Immortals and even with 100Thieves (accused the team of using marijuana and partying. the funniest? 100Thieves didn't even go to the US, they had visa issues. So the accusation is obviously false and xenophobic. And to make matters worse, a lot of people bought this idea because Thorin is an influence and so xenophobia against Brazil had another unfortunate chapter) back years precisely. Gotcha?
