how can be EU and NA LOL never win WORLDS. its really different compare to NA/EU Dota and NA already win TI. is bcs frachinse or what?
Delusional_SA_fan [#2]Why can KR never win a masters?
there's only been 6 lan events in Valorant, there's been way more in League
Delusional_SA_fan [#2]Why can KR never win a masters?
Not a good comparison. Worlds is almost a decade old. Valorant is 2 years old lmao
Brimstan [#3]all the na teams are basically imports anyways
thats really shamefull when i see liquipedia its 2/3 eu or kr player with higher population NA lol. its same as overwatch in NA full of koreans
GreyDaze [#5]Not a good comparison. Worlds is almost a decade old. Valorant is 2 years old lmao
Worlds is a whole decade older than valorant lol
Lamchops [#8]Worlds is a whole decade older than valorant lol
Well technically FNC did win if we go look that far kekw
capital_d_colon [#6]Kr ass at Dota thats why.
They all play league instead
i dont think so, bcs i see many mediocore kr team in 4/5 years ago

even though koreans dont play too much dota china does and we dont see chinese domination in dota. western teams are very competitive and most time are better than chinese ones
Olofboost [#13]Who cares irrelevant boring esport, 2 international tournaments a year with the worst formats possible, what a fucking joke LoL is
yes format is shit, but also wdym irrelevant boring esport? LoL is up there as one of the most viewed esports with CS:GO and Dota. Heck League was the most watched esports last year and has been quite consistently for a few years now.
For a long time and it still is probably the case the large majority of people that play video games in NA play on a gaming console and not a PC. Cod, Halo, and Nintendo, are what we know. League just isn't on many people's radar in NA. Compared to KR where PC bangs are most popular and the most popular games at those pc bangs are what people play. The most popular games in Korea are League, OW, etc. Just not the same in NA. PC gaming is not mainstream at all.

Yes it's most viewed, so what? Does it make things any better? Aside from allowing you to brag about "viewers"?

neither irrelevant nor boring, but ure right about the format and riot circuit for league, it sucks. two events per year is too little and league has so many good players and matchups we could see in a year but the probability of the matches we want to happen is very low because of that shit circuit
Olofboost [#19]Yes it's most viewed, so what? Does it make things any better? Aside from allowing you to brag about "viewers"?
more viewers = more sponspors, better salaries more recognition (for the players) better chances to making a career besides esports (players) no one talking about if its high level competition but sayin that is irrelevant is out of mind bro

no, if u ever went to TikTok China Version, no one gives a damn fk about dota, u cant even see any Ti news, its all about worlds. Chinese people in China likes to ply league a lot more than dota

i mean tbh 2011-2016 was chinese domination but still EU and NA can be huge threat. but in LOL its really one sided like china or kr.

but i mean average na player was huge than kr. or it just bad work ethic?
yamigamidark [#25]but i mean average na player was huge than kr. or it just bad work ethic?
I think people just don't care is the issue. They play league for a sec then off to the next game.
China orgs have ungodly amount of resources and the best teams use those very well
Korea benefits from a strong internet cafe culture and near unanimous cultural ubiquity for league as well as a massive legacy factor.
Western League orgs have good resources but are bad at applying them.
Western Dota benefits from only Russia, Peru, and the Philipines being the only places where Dota has any real ubiquitous advantage in popularity over League
