Seems like it's not just twitch but YouTube also has limited bandwidth there because of operational costs

valorant is growing nicely here and now the broadcasting is going to kill it and send it back the days when we barely managed 2000 viewers

Yeah it sucks but this issue is a little bit more complicated and has more to do with South Korean internet laws and costs more than twitch or any other broadcasting service
isps pay like 4-5x more for hosting content than what they do in SG and like 10x more than the US

yea ik i got no problem with twitch but with the suppliers and etc. but the thing is, twitch announced it like 12 hours before this shit gets implemented. even the streamers didn't get early notice.

Youtube also?? That's shit honestly. Anything under 720p 60 is not a good experience for streams

yt still has quality over 720p 60 and no confirmed news about dropping it to 720 like twitch. ig for yt we'll just have to wait and see

I think later on they will just reduce/limit bitrate so 1080p will be like 720p

Who is taking the money for bandwidth costs in Korea? It sounds nuts to me, considering Korea has been one of the countries that has highest technology usage compared to others (samsung, etc) are all in Korea. Is there any article or something that I can read about this?

uh i just got back to Korea so i don't really know what is going on but one thing I know is that the service providers that are in charge of these shits are complete nitwits

If you have YT, there's nothing to worry. The viewing experience is better, rewind, pause the stream and shit. Been watching YT streams my whole life for VCT, its really good.
