So if you're like iron to plat do you actually learn stuff from VCT itself? Cuz surely if you watch then you have to get somewhat better at the game. It should make you understand the game a bit more. Lemme know your thoughts

I watch vct because I like watching people shoot heads, i don't learn anything from it

People play so wacky in lower elo so VCT hasn't really helped with game-sense, but you do get a better gist of how to play some agents

I mean it's mostly about how to play the agents in my opinion, cuz in lower Elo it's either they use all their utility and nothing comes out of it or they don't use abilities at all.

i learned a lot about crosshair placement and how to play the game properly but rarely get to use them cause I'm low elo and don't get to play enough to be able to climb

i learned more about utilities. i was dogshit in using utilities before. i also learned more about the importance of discipline and timings

I always see the vct matches and try to learn how this game is played. Crosshair placement, lineups, comps, economy, aim routines, economy. But sometimes that doesn't matter because the people in lower rank play very different than people in vct

util usage and timings

I learn a lot about utilities to be honest but still my teammates don't really understand that and they don't want to comms so somehow it's hard to play together but if I'm lucky enough, we can play together to win the game. Lately I play with my irl friends so we usually 5-stacks or 3-stacks to play together and it's easier to communicate. In the other hand, I learn a lot how to hold an angle and crosshair placements.

The hardest part for me is when I play against smurfs or hackers... or maybe an account that is handled by a pilot service to boost their rank which somehow make it harder to rank up but after all I just remind myself that it is a game, I'm not a pro, I just need to chill and enjoy the game and the process.

Anything below Imm 2 is lower elo tho

not much for me. maybe because vct have so much team play, something that can't be gained on low rank.

but the thing i learned the most is how to clutch. I even won 1v5 thanks to it

i watch to enjoy the game and support teams im rooting for so i dont learn too much besides utility usage and basic xhair placement

Yes, I stole a few lineups from VCT

back in bronze-ish i'd always play worse after a VCT tournament cause i'd spend 3 weeks watching pros play and then have to wake up to the reality of my games not looking anything like that

eco strategy

esp pearl, since every time we're on an eco, I just ask my teammates to smoke b mid and rush connector. Works all the time(other than when we can't hit shots or go braindead). Also rush mid on eco works very well in ranked.

Some individual things like game sense, be more aware of the map, crosshair placement, economy (be more aware of the enemy team's economy round after round).

And for the collective stuff, i can understand and maybe even recall some plays, but that's REALLY difficult to apply in rankeds because not everyone wants to do it, not everyone comms, heck, even when i play premade with some friends it's kinda hard to call (i'm usually the more vocal player so they kinda listen but at the same time don't).

it helps to understand the right way to use skills. i like to play sentinels, so i copy some setups (not all of them work in low elo beacause of the way pros/noobs play). it also helps to understand to have a better read on space control and rotations, also how maps work

Honestly I just don't play the game enough.
Alot of the ideas you see in vct aren't too effective in lower ranks cause the set ups aren't the same and they don't play the same. Also they require team work.
