they will not be pieced together and traded like cattle

they will get their own skin collections and posters with proper royalties

they will get the ability to freely compete and move around the game

if pro players are kept out of the scene bc there are only so many roster spots due to constricted franchising teams, then no they did not.

all pro players should have a roster spot and chance to compete.

Anyone that doesnt make the partner league rosters can still compete for the ascension tourneys in the challengers leagues. Not like dozens of players will all of a sudden lose their careers.
