I'm a layman about the EMEA community, is the Spanish community much better than others to have 3 teams in the franchise?
I found it a bit exaggerated...
Mortadelo [#3]I'm sorry but Spain has actually good orgs :)
And Turkish player-base bigger than Spanish and French combined
1 CIS team (Na'Vi), no team from East region (which doesn't surprise me much, we don't really have any capable orgs here besides maybe AGO who are not interested in Valorant anyway and Entropiq in Czechia and that's pretty much all that I could think of), NO org from DACH which is just wtf and 3 orgs from Spain
idk, Rito does some weird things here
Are you talking about players? No, we don't have the best talent nil
Are you talking about community and numbers? Yes, biggest Region in EU with the most investments by orgs.
Explanation of why every org has been picked up:
KOI, just joined LEC, has big bucks and is just absolutely , massive they pull over 100K every time they play in VRL of LOL, and they do the same in Valorant when they costreamed which being in franchising is gonna become more often
Heretics: Again, org has money, has been here since the start of Valorant, just bought a LEC spot for 50 million and they again, have some insane numbers, owner has second twitch total spectators record with 2.1 Million viewers just behind KOI's owner with 3M
Giants: Probably the hardest one to justify, but again, been here since the start, really well stablished, popular org (Just not as massive as the other two), got some money and I guess Riot liked their project and tbf the only other org that could competed with them is BIG, which would have been the most reasonable and what I thought would happen, still the decision really makes sense from a business point of view even tho it sucks for germans I'm sorry
Also this kinda reinforces the idea that RIOT has plans to move to Barcelona after the league gets established
Hope this is objective enough and I'm not being biased
babysasuke [#6]I can’t think of any
I can help, KOI (Biggest streamer in the world idk if you'rve ever heard it), Heretics second twitch world record of all time? Should I keep going?

yeah giants was a confusing one.
I think having 3 spanish orgs is too much.
BBL_Wtcn [#4]And Turkish player-base bigger than Spanish and French combined
First of all that's a bit too much, but yeah y'all have the biggest player base, but if you knew a little bit about how this works you would realize that has nothing to do if you don't have any good orgs to back it up. You have to understand Futbolist or the rest of Turkish orgs other than BBL are just smaller
capital_d_colon [#8]yeah giants was a confusing one.

yeah I agree even if I'm not gonna complain obviously lol. My question is do you understand why they did it?

BIG could have made it instead of Giants, other than that I think the list is perfect, and even with that is a logical move business wise, just really unfair for dach

tbh if it was BIG instead of Giants and something from Scandinavia (Heroic/Alliance) it'd be perfect*
*obviously I'd love for there to be an org from Central-East Europe, but there's just no realistic prospects here anyway. If Team Kinguin didn't die over the years they could be one but unfortunately they're pretty much dead after rebranding to DV1
Kobel [#12]tbh if it was BIG instead of Giants and something from Scandinavia (Heroic/Alliance) it'd be perfect*

also lack of G2 obviously hurts as I've followed the org in CS/LOL/RL since 2017 but Vitality got in so I still have a team to cheer for anyway.
Mortadelo [#10]yeah I agree even if I'm not gonna complain obviously lol. My question is do you understand why they did it?
I mean koi and heretics makes sense, big fanbases lots of momentum behind them.
Koi very similar to karmine in a way.
I mean how many of the giants fans wouldnt watch koi/heretics games? the % is probably quite low.
I think if it means 1 of big/g2 dont get into franchising in any capacity its a bad move.
if g2 makes americas then its fine
Eltioconcho [#13]Hispanic comunnity is the biggest comunitty on twitch, so they deserved at least 2 spots, 3 its a lot for me, but you can understad why
Agree.
I think people don't understand that Spanish orgs have a big fanbase in latam tho
Kobel [#14]also lack of G2 obviously hurts as I've followed the org in CS/LOL/RL since 2017 but Vitality got in so I still have a team to cheer for anyway.
It's not confirmed they are gone yet. And ngl if they end up in NA and BIG gets in I'm gonna clap Riot cause it's perfect. Hope they make somewhere tho, been following the org too

Hmmmmmm It gave a beautiful enlightened in my mind, I thought Heretics was a small org, because I only heard about them on valorant when they had won some national championship, I didn't know they were big...
Interesting, thanks for the clarification
Kobel [#14]also lack of G2 obviously hurts as I've followed the org in CS/LOL/RL since 2017 but Vitality got in so I still have a team to cheer for anyway.
Yeah, even tho val is just not very popular in Scandinavia, big orgs are not interested. and central East Europe yeah Entropiq Ig just not the same. BIG is the only org I'm actually lacking rn
Scar98 [#16]Agree.
I think people don't understand that Spanish orgs have a big fanbase in latam tho
yeah , we root for the spanish orgs when they play in EMEA
Eltioconcho [#13]Hispanic comunnity is the biggest comunitty on twitch, so they deserved at least 2 spots, 3 its a lot for me, but you can understad why
Yup, same here
Mkin11 [#20]yeah , we root for the spanish orgs when they play in EMEA
I think 95% of Spain was supporting KRU and LEV over every EMEA team this champs too and I include myself so it works both ways, this should be counted for their franchising too
aTastyCook1e [#18]Hmmmmmm It gave a beautiful enlightened in my mind, I thought Heretics was a small org, because I only heard about them on valorant when they had won some national championship, I didn't know they were big...

Yup, Heretics it's actually massively big, far from being the smallest inside Franchising
capital_d_colon [#15]I mean koi and heretics makes sense, big fanbases lots of momentum behind them.

That's what I'm starting to think, it's either G2 America or Riot is considering g2 as German instead of just European in general. I just don't see why else they would leave BIG out knowing the league is in Berlin. Still again, Giants it's pretty big but you're right, most fans were gonna watch anyway, unlike HERETICS and KOI who actually bring a lot of their own fans from other games. Giants fans are more esports fans, other two are more content fans
Kobel [#14]also lack of G2 obviously hurts as I've followed the org in CS/LOL/RL since 2017 but Vitality got in so I still have a team to cheer for anyway.
Also wouldn't you sort of count FNC as Northerner? Sort of Scandinavian? IK it's UK but you get what I mean
Mortadelo [#25]Also wouldn't you sort of count FNC as Northerner? Sort of Scandinavian? IK it's UK but you get what I mean
Yes but no, UK is in the Polaris region but FNC I doubt they'll actually invest in the talent from the region besides UK players
Mortadelo [#3]I'm sorry but Spain has actually good orgs :)
Spanish players are not nearly as talented as TR players though. I hope teams like heretics don’t stick to their players because they are a Spanish org or sth
Kobel [#27]Yes but no, UK is in the Polaris region but FNC I doubt they'll actually invest in the talent from the region besides UK players
FNC has historically signed Scandinavian players tho. Look at cs
Ibis_s [#28]Spanish players are not nearly as talented as TR players though. I hope teams like heretics don’t stick to their players because they are a Spanish org or sth
Ofc they're better but it's not the same. Turkish orgs are gonna sign Turkish players even if that means being at the bottom of the leaderboard, Spanish orgs might be biased towards Spanish players? Yeah ofc, every one of them is gonna try to at least have 1 Spanish player, but is not gonna be nothing crazy for sure, not players that are actually bad, and the rest is just gonna be make the best roster possible with the EMEA talent, have some big bucks to afford it
Mortadelo [#29]FNC has historically signed Scandinavian players tho. Look at cs
They had full Swedish line up for years and that was the reason, once they stepped away from it they don't care
i know rn they also have roeJ and nicodoz but I doubt any sentiments towards Scandinavia played part in their signings
Kobel [#31]They had full Swedish line up for years and that was the reason, once they stepped away from it they don't care

But that is more than enough to farm a lot of Scandinavian FPS fans through out this years which ig is gonna have to work cause RIOT doesn't make distinction between UK and Scandinavia, all nordics to them
BBL_Wtcn [#4]And Turkish player-base bigger than Spanish and French combined
yes but the orgs are not in the same level as the spanish ones, sorry but it's rhe truth
