Someone help every time I tab out of valorant my pc freezes I can still move the mouse but can click anything.
sentinelmain377 [#6]cant do much
get a better pc or deal with not being able to tab out
Didn’t used to do this and it’s a pretty decent machine
ChickenJoe [#8]I heard it was some sort of issue with Windows 11, if you look it up there may be some solutions but I think people have just been reverting to Windows 10.
I run windows 10
yep having same problem or at least had that is why I almost completely stopped playing Valorant. Tried disabling GPU acceleration scheduling or whatever and also went back to old simple tab out screen without animations but those didn't work.
its just issue that happens. I contacted Riot custom support and after everything they just said that its Windows problem and they can't do anything. Microsoft fixed bunch of similar freeze things with other games (like Destiny 2) but to my knowledge there haven't been any mentioning of Valorant.
I'm using Windows 11, but I have heard this is also problem in Windows 10.
but again I have only played 1 max game at time for couple month so don't know has the issue been fixed for me
Trykan [#16]I had the same problem, I changed to windowed mode and that helped a ton
I did fullscreen windowed instead of windowed but yeah that fixed everything for me too
100TBoeJiden [#18]id recommend going back to windows 7/8 or even XP if you have the original Key.
???
BelgianSausage [#17]I did fullscreen windowed instead of windowed but yeah that fixed everything for me too
Believe me I’ve tried that
The problem can be identified using "WhoCrashed," ... also the same DEVS offer free of charge "LatencyMon," which may assist you further in optimising your system. But make sure you know how to use them by looking them out online or however you choose to as there are couple of nuances you need to know beforehand.
One more thing, especially in WIN11(though not as much in WIN10... but still), if Discord (DS) is being used during Valorant, then you should preferably set the following in DS -> settings -> voice & video -> switch off "debug logging" ... and similarly in DS settings -> advanced -> switch off "hardware acceleration." - just some recent working fixes for DS.
Lastly, try to reproduce the condition that existed at the time of the crash and then deduct one at the time, asking... "were there any other apps open while Valorant was running, such as DS or the browser and so on?" If... then, "Could some of those app's driver(s) or service(s) cause the clash/issue?" This way, you may eventually encounter system-specific issues that are only unique to your current setup +"LatencyMon" app will help you in that as it goes in hand with similar "top-down" system investigations.
Still the number of potenial causes could be large... Best of luck!
EDIT: Added DS temp fixes and some suggestions.
