Im socialist when it comes to things like healthcare, shelter, public services, food transportation etc. Especially when I work in healthcare, but when it comes to things that are non-necessities I am very much pro capitalism as it promotes innovation.

I'm pretty sure the thread was deleted but I remember you talking about defunding police institution and that you are sad that your boyfriend is stuck as a cop but because of X situation he couldn't leave the job. So with policing it takes a lot a resources and education away from any other field.
You cant be in healthcare, engineering, or any scientific background
By the time youre already in policing the only other roles you can use your degree with are really only other first responder roles, but they dont pay nearly as much or have as many benefits as policing.
Policing doesnt get you far on resumes to actual companies but rather just entry level jobs. He would have to go back to school entirely, but the worst part is, is that policing really doesnt pay enough to make the switch seemlessly without struggling financially.
Bf has already tried to get Masters in social work but wasnt able to do so with how demanding the job field is.
Its essentially a venus fly trap of careers and youre stuck doing that until you have to retire
With this being said even if you want to be a police officer in another state let alone another country you would have to completely restart school as well just to do so as every state and country has its own laws and regulations

Well of course its not socialism. Like i said I agree in socialist policies. Total socialism or total capitalism has never worked and will never work. Thus why I support various aspect of the two to have a good balance.
Free healthcare would be a socialist policy
Public education (which already exists) is a socialist policy
Free firetrucks for fires (which already exists) is a socialist policy
I just support more socialist policies than others and for some people like to call that full socialism which it isnt
