Kuuga [#14]I recently got transferred from Georgia State University to Georgia Tech, which is a big jump to and from campuses. Any tips for transferring to a new university and embracing first-year experience for a sophomore student?
First of all, congrats. I got a lot of friends that go to tech and say they love it. Ik someone who transferred from UGA to GT and is now making 300k+ at Pinterest at 26 so uve got a bright future. I would rlly try to join as many clubs as possible, connections are everything. During orientation try to make as many friends as possible who share big goals

first of all, congratulations! GATech is a great university.
As a sophomore your workload shouldn't be too hard, but depending on your major (and honestly any kind of STEM education) you'll likely run out of free time with every semester. I'd suggest you try and participate in any fun clubs or activities whilst trying to adjust to the coursework GT offers - you won't have much time for making friends in your 34d and 4th year.

Congrats my guy. Do u have any tips on getting acclimated to uk uni experience? I’m likely studying abroad for a semester in my 3rd year at Oxford or cambridge

Im not going because financial aid in the UK for undergrads is horrible + i actually cannot afford it. So i really cannot say anything. But generally, just focus on ur grades since 3rd year is when you get most of the practical experience. So no need to actually get hands on experience on anything related to the field.

UCL is pretty good. I have a friend who goes there and I thought about either going there or to Imperial as an exchange student, but it's really too expensive. I would rather go to somewhere like NUS - I've never been to Singapore and always wanted to. Plus it's cheaper and closer to home.

NUS seems rlly cool but it seems too cutthroat and more obsessed w grades than networking imo. Also how is 30k per year too expensive? Do u get any financial aid or no? I assume they don’t give much cause the tuition is so low in the first place. Also Do u go to SNU

I pay my uni's tuition when going as an exchange student overseas gg and no FinAID because I'm an international and shit

no, I go to a US uni that's better lul, I didn't get a 1580 on the SAT for nothing
As for networking, I agree. US unis are prob the best place for networking. But I've always wanted to go to SG and it's only gonna be for a semester or 2.
IntelligentInstigator [#11]Bro def is braindead and goes to a stupid school. On this forum I was just looking for competent ppl who value education
I don't think people come here looking for university app advice (people usually just ask stuff on the gradadmissions reddit). They would just assume you're trying to flex.
Anyway, what are you majoring in?
Also, you don't have to call someone braindead or stupid for this.

Nice nice congrats. Yea I pay full 80k tuition too it’s not very fun but who cares. American universities standout from all others because of the networking abilities. Yea studying abroad seems super fun and a rlly good maturing experience that’s why I wanna study abroad

very respectable. networking is also what i value the most out of university life, nice that we see eye-to-eye on that end.
