In american school system NA is only mexico greenland canada and USA apart from the mayor and minor antiles, anything below mexico, which is CA is considered south america. Which means, that guatemala which is below the mexican border is in fact part of south america, however if we were using the latam school system, which I had both in a bilingual school in the carribean, you would find out that gualemala located in central america is in the continent of central america. Never once have I heard an american citizen say that anything apart from mexico in CA was north america.
Geographically speaking, all of Central America is, in fact, a region of North America and not its own continent. And even if you don't count geography, Guatemala would still be Central America, not South America. SA goes from Colombia down to the south border of Chile/Argentina.
Remember, "americans" ain't always right.
Depends on the school of thought, if you count america as only one continent, or as two or three. I was using the american school system because its the most common train of thought, however the subregion of central america when america is divided into two regions, befalls into the south america region either way. Within the train of thought that the whole of america is one continent, then yes, guatemala would still only be central america. But there is no school of though whether geographically or culturally that central america would even be close to residing in NA. The carribean is part of NA central america isnt tho.
Wrong. If you count America as one continent then thats it. If you divide America as two continents then it would be North America, including Central America as a subregion, and South America. There is no system where Central America is its own continent, nor a part of South America. Whoever told you that, was mistaken.
You can research it yourself, its free.
