how does vrl work? im confused and idk anything about it so id appreciate it if somebody fills me in on it
8 different leagues (Spain/France/DE/Nordic etc) and the winner of the leagues get to compete in a promotion tournament to get a VCT spot with the lowest ranked VCT teams from the past stage.
FOKUS was the team from VRL-DE that successfully got in to VCT
basically just like SEA qualifier where numbers of country playing a league and playoff format, then the winners will advance to the next stage. their next stage is promotion stage where they compete with other countries winner and 2 lowest ranked team from previous EU challangers stage. so vrl is like EU tier 2 tournament.
RISING - Spain, Portugal & Italy?
REVOLUTION - France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg
POLARIS - Nordic Countries(UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland?)
SURGE - Countries in Central and Eastern Europe like (Poland, Czechia, the Baltics, the Balkans)
RESILIENCE - Middle East & North Africa(MENA)
BİRLİK(UNITY) - Turkey
EVOLUTION - German speaking countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland?
Lastly, ОРИЕНТИР(LANDMARK) - Russia Ukraine, Belarus sadly cancelled due to war

thanks for that mate but like isnt that bad for the scene? isnt it just better to do open and closed quals for vct like what they are doing for NA coz vrl just seems too much for a team to get into vct

it makes the EU T2 scene alive at least, instead of waiting every few months like in NA

So every team that doesn’t make it to VCT plays 2 qualifiers a year and that’s it? Half of the orgs in tier 2 would not have a roster signed rn. Talking about Vitality, MAD, Alliance, BDS, etc
VRL boost the scene in many ways, and yeah it might be hard for a team to make it, but I can guarantee you that all teams rather that than qualifiers. Plus you don’t need your whole team to make it, look at Alfajer or Musashi

thats a good point but isnt there only like one spot for vct? if thats the case then open quals are better imo

hmmm true but i want more than just 1 or even 2 teams getting spots, maybe the top 16 teams from vrl can compete for 4 spots? thatd be good for both the t2 and t1 orgs

isn't Landmark, Milestone?
makoidk [#12]Yeah, i do agree the spots are kinda low, but i think that spots should be the one they should change, not the qual format
i thought about it a bit and you are right, maybe having 4 or 3 spots from vrl might benefit both the tier 1 orgs and tier 2 orgs as t2 will have better chance to get into t1 while t1 will have more competition which is overall better for the scene and now that i think about it i understand why na tier 2 scene is in shambles rn lmfaoo

No point in discussing this format.
Franchising is soon about to be implemented talk about that maybe we don't get to see any VRL teams in an international league.
