VCT JP just announced that they’re holding their upper/lower bracket finals and Grand Finals of Playoffs in Saitama Super Arena which accommodates up to 37,000 people.

That's a good looking venue.
AverageJoe [#16]37,000 ppl stadium??
it is gonna look empty LMAO
they barely have that number for stream in total for their non Masters game. To think that you can fill up a 37,000 stadium because you have 37000 views is delusional
keep coping !!! JP fans are real deal not bandwagons/onliners like SEN Tenz fans. 1m Twitter followers merchant

queueK [#22]that's going to be so hype
@EU @NA stop slacking
It's crazy how they haven't had Lans for at least their playoffs with crowds. Games so much more hype with crowds.

i think it's because NA LCQ shit the bed
sucks that it went the way it did, because I think if it was successful there def would be way more LANs

lol , image attached to the announcement tweet is obviously from the main arena ,and on the same day, another event is being held in the sub-arena.
Also, kizoku is unaffiliated with the VCT management. In any case, it is better to wait for the official announcement.

Fayt [#28]I have a feeling that VAL for japan will be like CS is for brazil in the future, their passion for the game will be more insane in the future
If I'm not wrong, I feel like Valorant is also pretty popular in Brazil also, right?
nyto [#34]Due to my poor English, I wrote that only prize money is important, but the prize pool in the Japan region is obviously too small compared to the popularity.
Even the winning team can only get 1 million yen (less than $8000)!!!
If the prize pool is true, it is too little.
awsh [#35]If the prize pool is true, it is too little.
Yes, according to Liquipedia, the prize pool for s1 JP Playoff was 2 million yen (about $16,000).

valvenq [#2]they have insane viewership too. I think it increased after masters 1
Nah they had so much since last year

i wouldnt say so. There will be thousands of fans for the grand/upper/lower final teams, plus people who just want to see it because they enjoy valorant, and Japan is small enough that its not unrealistic for people that they could just hop on a train and go to the LAN. Do you think every single person that watched the recent CSGO major finals in person was a big fan of faze or navi?? Plus, many would have had to fly to see that said LAN since it was in europe. So to think that they can fill up a stadium for the local finals games isnt unrealistic, since its easy enough to travel to and there are plenty of people willing to/wanting to see it.
edit: plus a leak said its 5k people max in the sub-arena
Valhalla23140 [#27]Wait NA LCQ had live audience??
No, but it WAS a lan so teams were competing offline. Except they didnt because a bunch of them got covid.
