I’m so tired of hearing this. Valorant in 2022 is different enough from CS that a top pro can’t just switch and immediately dominate with no work. Watch S1mple play some valo, he’s pretty fucking good but nowhere near as good as he is in CS. I’m sure if he put in the work, he COULD be as good because he has the mechanical skill to perform on the highest level, but it’s not something where any top cs pro can just wander over and clown on tier 1 Valo.

For the most part yes, but MCE exists!

If Optic get a mental buff and stop being boomed, they win 2-1 with one OT. If not, they get crushed 2-0 by Kru, scoring less than 6 rounds on one map.

Optic have higher peaks but are much more inconsistent than C9 plus their LAN mental is...lackluster

I agree with the liquid looking better part, but honestly they weren't particularly spectacular. Certainly nothing like their champions form in terms of strategy and coordination, even though the individuals are playing better.

Kru haven't looked great all year; Xerxia have.

The Optic that played Xerxia on Ascent was completely different than the Optic playing against V1 and C9. Xerxia played incredible and deserved their win don't get me wrong, but Optic were just so boomed mentally.

I'd say Fnatic take it over NIP (mainly because Derke's playing), and Xerxia beat Liquid. Sure Liquid looked better than they did in EMEA quals, but Xerxia looked fantastic against Optic. Even though Optic's playing was very mediocre, it was way better than Kru's in the strategic and tactical departments.

I think Guard will do well provided they perform on LAN. It's a very different enviroment, and they're young players, so there might be some growing pains.

posted about 3 years ago

I agree with yours. Fnatic might beat DRX tho cause Derke's confirmed playing.

Really depends on Optic's mental. If they go into it like alright we have a second chance, let's just play better we got this: they win (probably close tho). If they go into it like, we're failures: they instantly lose and Kru will crush them into pulp.

Xerxia 2-1, didn't think they'd be here but I think they're better than Liquid

posted about 3 years ago

I had this match in the lower bracket but yeah I preded Xerxia over Liquid

posted about 3 years ago

Welp this was wrong LMFAO

posted about 3 years ago

I honestly think C9 or V1 could've had a much better showing although they certainly wouldn't win guaranteed or anything. Optic's mental on LAN seems like shit.

posted about 3 years ago

Nah I've always liked Xerxia. I just find the overreacting on this site stupid and exhausting.

posted about 3 years ago

About what? Xerxia looked so good and Optic played quite a bit worse compared to their previous performances. Xerxia def deserved to win.

Gj Xerxia! Played great :)

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah that's actually a really fair point. I think if Xerxia evolved as they did but kept Pati, they would be better now. My hypothetical was if Xerxia now faced X10 at Champs, Xerxia now would win.

Thank you Yoorake. Valuable insight.

Hot take, Xerxia has improved enough in tactics and strategy that they're now a better team than when they had Pati

Everyone with any sense knew Xerxia was a good team. Them winning on their map pic isn't so big that it calls for half of this site to go NA KEKW OMG NA SO BAD. Provided Optic aren't boomed mentally (def possible tbf), they have a decent chance to win the next two maps.

Bro Optic lost on Xerxia's map pic. It's not over by any means.

That was an epic match thanks for reminding

This is cap but optic still win imo

I'm lowkey enjoying Bonecold's rn

Probably but I can't speak portuguese :(

posted about 3 years ago

They're casting or doing desk work later I think

posted about 3 years ago

?????? Not at all, they're completely different games with mostly nontransferrable skills. That being said, my logic is certain types of aiming (like one tapping and tracking) is a lot harder in OW than in CS because of the increased movement and verticality. That makes the game more difficult in at least one catagory.

posted about 3 years ago

Have you seen OW widow clips? Harder than any deagle shot cause of all the vertical movement

Perfect thank you

Yeah that'd be great. Plus we'd have more matches, which is always good.

Are they still starting Kru vs Liquid at 2 or not? I wanna know if I can leave for a bit and not miss stuff.

posted about 3 years ago

This is it. The player quality seems good, but the coordination and strats seem pretty weak. If they got a coach like McE or ENGH and put in the work, they could def be a top team or at least a lot better than rn.

I wish we could report users, but glad they did something abt him

posted about 3 years ago

Exactly this. In turn, that would cause the Japanese region to get even worse, and definitely not qualify, which means the region just dies. It's a cycle.

posted about 3 years ago

Agreed but they should keep that one, not lose it like some dumbasses here are saying

Based

posted about 3 years ago

No. Instead +China +Turkey, hell +Africa for all I care. Just have more teams, more tournaments, and more excitement. THAT's what'll make pro valo better.

posted about 3 years ago

Straight facts actually

posted about 3 years ago

Not Zeta v Drx lol. Liquid vs Kru + Optic vs Xerxia should be sick tho

posted about 3 years ago

Just curious, what's yours

Too bad that bald guy was an antivax POS

posted about 3 years ago

Idk but I trust sean/ddk to make it good :)

posted about 3 years ago

That's fair. I'd say that overall they did look worse than C9 throughout qualifiers, but when it came down to it, they won. I don't think they'll win every match this tournament, but with the way that they've been improving (far more than C9), they'll be the best at the end of the year. I think Iceland is a fantastic proving ground/way to gain LAN experience for the team as a whole, and I trust the Guard to consistently play good valorant and have some exciting games.
