Bro you got 13-2d with some random guy called Rick Lee on top

EDG Absolutely demolished the GenG core in East Asia LCQ? A 2-0 and a 3-0 vs ONS with scorelines that weren't even close. Its even more obvious is you watch the actual matches, it was like a radiant vs diamond team

posted about a year ago

Damn nicely predicted

posted about a year ago

don't bother arguing bro, guard clearly would've won with tex who's literally their fragger. Let the haters live in their own delusions

posted about a year ago

Tbh that's because csgo if far less chaotic than val

posted about a year ago

Pretty small sample size, doesn't say much. If you've watched their actual matches you'll know there's a lot more to it, their games are often VERY close. Even some 100T fans thought EDG was the better team despite losing that matchup at LockIn. And some of EDG's clutches are champions-level - they've got the potential, just need more experience and discipline.

posted about a year ago

I'd say they're 2nd pacific, they absolutely demolished the GenG core back in East Asia LCQ (vs ONS), but DRX is just undoubtedly better ngl

Really doesn't matter whether they deserve the slots or not. The whole point of franchising was money both for the org and for the players - if you really look at it this is a very positive thing, it's a great way to speed up development of a region who's valorant is releasing 3 years after it did globally. Its making up for that gap. Also I'd say at least EDG deserves spots, they'd be the 2nd best in pacific for sure.

Yeah I just wish val was accepted before franchise. We'd get at least 2 cn teams in Pacific and they can actually compete outside their region for once. (Though they scrim pacific teams regularly anyway)

posted about a year ago

They're 3 years behind, needs to be some way to develop the region and let them catch up especially when Riot & League is massive in China

1st game EDG had to sub smoggy in because life got covid, 2nd game life tried to play but still felt unwell thus unperformed, 3rd game they looked equally matched with 100T, 4th game FPX sucks can agree with that

posted about a year ago

Yeah but I don't think time was the issue - it would be weird to decide on the teams going to masters if the same one won both acts. Act 1 is more competitive anyway so it was probably decided to just use the top 2 seed teams

posted about a year ago

I know it might be a bit late to say, but this was just for a spot in Act 2 - which ISN'T being used for a masters Tokyo spot, as you might know already. These qualifiers work using "rounds" where each consists of 4 single-elim brackets, where the winning teams of each of those brackets "qualify" for a double-elim finals bracket. Simply another 2 teams are eliminated. Then this is repeated multiple times ofc, and teams which qualify in earlier rounds are given benefits. Honestly I think this is one of the best qualifier formats I've seen.

As for why act 2 exists? It might be here for a point-like system to determine who goes to champions? It's cool to see that you're interested in the CN scene tho

posted about a year ago

You can't understand what I'm writing because you clearly don't understand how the tournament system works. It goes act 1 qualifiers -> act 1 -> act 2 qualifiers -> act 2.

Each qualifier has multiple "rounds", and the better teams qualify in the earlier rounds - they're also given benefits for doing so. In this case, teams who qualify in later rounds are forced to go against higher seeded teams from act 1 - like as a punishment.

Act 1 groups is far more competitive than Act 2 because they qualified first time round, only teams who are not able to qualify the first time (or placed 9th-12th in groups) must qualify AGAIN for act 2 - this means the teams GANK are fighting are quite bad. Winning a final here does not mean that much, and calling it "the final of China" makes no sense. It's like if a random EU team with 2 NA players won the qualifiers to go to Challengers stage, then saying "No surprises, the level of play in NA is very high, only 2 good NA players and you are in the final of EU"

can't expect much from their first international game ever

When tf did he ever mention Kuwait?? 💀💀. Also thats the new zealand flag lil bro

I agree, just one thing - China is 3 years behind actually. They're only starting closed beta Valorant in 2 days from now. Most current CN pro players are likely only those with friends from Taiwan and Hong Kong, CN servers ofc don't exist so all the current players are on VPNs and playing off KR/JP servers. Considering that they've already looked equally matched against both PRX and 100T, the potential the region has when its playerbase actually grows is insane to imagine.

posted about a year ago

Yeah but FPX far worse than EDG

posted about a year ago

Where did you find this info? Not doubting you btw

posted about a year ago

"final of china", bro wym "of China".. this is the THIRD round for QUALIFIERS of the SECOND act of a TIER B tourney. These guys don't stand a chance against EDG, FPX, ASE, KONE, DRG, TTG. In round 2 they couldn't beat NOP who placed 9th in China (in act 1) or NWG who didn't even qualify for act 1 last time 💀💀

posted about a year ago

Oh.. I don't think RNG will win this.

posted about a year ago

Sideshow and Bren are by far the best

posted about a year ago

Pretty sure there's enough time, split 2 quals are almost done

posted about a year ago

Damn these 2 teams are so equally matched

posted about a year ago

damn RNG beat a team who managed to beat KONE so..

posted about a year ago

If only val released in CN sooner EDG would prob be franchised and at least make it a little more competitive

posted about a year ago

Exactly what I was thinking, Chichoo always shows up when it's most important - even internationally. You seen this guy's clutches against 100T??
