because everyone keeps asking it in every thread i look at...

fair, but i really think that KOI has potential (if wolfen gets better) and should be 4th. i will stick by that, even though they lost to NRG.

posted about 3 years ago

as someone who doesnt follow the BR scene, what went wrong with mibr? im just curious because they screwed my pickems...

posted about 3 years ago

oops forgot, but heretics definitely needs a roster shuffle (mixwell paycheck stealer needs to leave and start his streaming career).

posted about 3 years ago

i mean the 4th place slot is between KOI, giants and VIT so yeah...

posted about 3 years ago

its not copium, EMEA really only deserves 3 slots until the rest of the teams improve...

posted about 3 years ago

this is true, as happy as i would be with DRX winning lock in, EMEA and pacific probably don't really deserve the extra slot tbh...

posted about 3 years ago

nah, KOI needs to drop wolfen and starxo and import 2 good NA players, and KC needs to drop xms (you could make a case for newzera too) and heretics needs a full roster change. giants is ok as they are i would say, a couple of upgrades may improve the team but they definitely arent as bad as KC and TH imo.

posted about 3 years ago

this is a good fix i would say, it would allow the talent to move to other teams, which would make the region stronger, while also culling those who don't belong there. it would also allow MENA and CIS regions to grow. only worry is that turkish teams will remain lackluster unless BBL and FUT have a roster overhaul.

posted about 3 years ago

OK, ive explained it quite a few times now, but let's look at it like this. imagine NA got 8 or 9 out of the 10 franchising slots for the americas. apart from the guard, can you make 2 or 3 more competitive teams from the remaining players? and if you can, what if the best players on the good teams went to different teams instead? there would be some teams that aren't competitive. this is what happened in EMEA. talent was spread too thin and the best players all went to the best teams, which made the rest of the region weak. APAC wasn't developed enough, which makes americas the strongest region. giving americas more slots would turn the league into a farming league since out of the NA, BR and LATAM ascension players, only one more competitive and fairly strong team can be formed.

posted about 3 years ago

i agree, but the pacific franchising region doesn't seem strong enough yet. hopefully the players can grow and improve, otherwise it will either be DRX and PRX dominating the region and the rest getting stomped by EMEA or americas franchising teams.

posted about 3 years ago

talon over prx, BBL> fpx, heretics and mibr, KOI should be like 8th, KC needs to go down a little.

posted about 3 years ago

yeah, americas is strongest franchising region. its because NA only has 25 slots, BR has only 15 slots and latam has 10 slots for all their best players. in NA, some of them have missed out on franchising (The Guard and some other players), showing how competitive it is in NA. BR have 2 solid teams and latam have a superteam imo in leviatan (especially with onur as coach). Compare that to EMEA, where EU has 40 slots for their best players, when in reality EU only really has about 30 or 25 outstanding players that are world class, which is clearly shown in navi, TL and fnc, who have some of the best of EMEA in each role. Finally, APAC hasn't grown enough since most of the old regions (JP, KR, SEA) were not competitive or one team regions. So finding 50 of the best players means that, just like in EMEA, some players that might not be considered world class can make it onto teams (exhibit A: DFM). that is why americas is and will be the strongest overall region for some time.

ok thanks for being respectful about it :)

i think talent has been spread too far out. KOI, KC, TH and maybe the turkish teams contain players that don't seem to be the best of the best of EMEA.

posted about 3 years ago

hey can we stop predicting drx 2-0, im scared that they will be jinxed

posted about 3 years ago

the only competitive apac team left on this side of the bracket
FTFY unless zeta can clutch up against their opponents. pacific isn't looking too good, but who knows, maybe GE and RRQ can surprise me...

posted about 3 years ago

can you tell me what your excuse will be tomorrow if DRX beats C9? :)

posted about 3 years ago

4/10, i was on too much EU hopium and overrated mibr and didn't know that prx decided to matchfix and that kc would be so good with 3 players who have never played on LAN

posted about 3 years ago

c9 seemed to be really good in that "50/50" matchup against prx so im a little worried... but i believe in my favourite team! (i actually don't im thinking of not watching the match because im scared of chokeRX)

posted about 3 years ago

yep because we definitely don't have drx vs el di- i mean c9 tomorrow

posted about 3 years ago

DRX 2-1 and EG 2-1 are my preds.

posted about 3 years ago

im praying that your pickem is th script rn as a DRX fan ;-;

posted about 3 years ago

THINGS ARE LOOKING GOOD FOR DRX THEN (hopium) :)

posted about 3 years ago

Literally both navi and tl have an almost free path into the top 4 though.
edit: after reviewing the bracket, i have concluded that it is in fact not free, but navi should be able to beat leviatan... right?

posted about 3 years ago

maybe EMEA needs to make more superteams by putting the best players from different teams onto the same teams.

posted about 3 years ago

by using the verb "wasting", you are implying that they are being lazy and complacent. If you had used the verb "losing" instead, it would be more appropriate since it would not suggest that you are blaming TL for redgar not making it on time.

posted about 3 years ago

wasting time? for something out of their control??? L take.

posted about 3 years ago

3/8 i changed my talon pickems because patiphan wasnt playing, and i predicted PRX to win and i was on the chinese copium and i was on the KOI copium and i was too hopeful about heretics. i only got the drx bbl, geng loud and the giants dfm predictions right.

posted about 3 years ago

wait is it still possible to change omega pickems?

posted about 3 years ago

i wouldnt really care about vlr.gg users and their votes. i was just saying that the games with optic and drx have been really close. i really hope DRX get over their hurdle of losing to experienced NA teams.

wait they caught ligma candice?

posted about 3 years ago

three times iirc. once at reykjavik, once at istanbul, once at copenhagen. the games were always close, 2-1 and 3-2...

posted about 3 years ago

DRX is pacific's last hope, i'm literally praying for them to win against C9 because it would be an utter nightmare if DRX lost.

posted about 3 years ago

the current team is still better than that because sayf is very flexible and good on loads of agents and imo soulcas>nivera still.

posted about 3 years ago

I used to play 2200 dpi 1.85 but last week I changed it to 1800 0.5

posted about 3 years ago

actually, we don't really have a way of measuring how good BBL is on ascent, so we can't say that they are second worst...

posted about 3 years ago

geng need to find a replacement for secret and maybe for eko too. the other three are really solid.

posted about 3 years ago

i want DRX to win it all but i think that either navi or the winner of SEN/FNC will win lock in. idk who i want to stand out.

posted about 3 years ago

they are kind of washed, all of them. they only dominated when nobody really knew how to play the game at masters 2 2021.

i explained why in another thread, but to summarise, it is about how spread out the talent pool is in the americas league compared to the talent pool in EMEA and pacific. Pacific has loads of one team regions, and EMEA has only about 25 top players that are worthy to play on the top level spread out across 10 teams. since we are seeing all the teams, we are also seeing teams that aren't good enough to play on the world stage. americas has a lot more and because NA has only 5 teams, their best players are more concentrated, making more "super teams". Same with brazil and latam, both of whom have proved themselves last year. pacific has lots of one team regions, so if they arent the best, they are weak.

posted about 3 years ago

NA may be better overall, but the top of EMEA are extremely good. The reason why EMEA and pacific look so bad is because it is only now that we are seeing the divide between the best of the best in EMEA compared to those just below them. I won't say that EMEA is a one team region, but theres definitely only like 25 players in EMEA that are good enough to compete on the world stage and they have been divided into 10 different teams. That might explain why so many of the EMEA teams look so bad, whereas in americas, while there might also only be like 35 top players in the world at most, only 25 of them (more like 23) actually get to play in franchising, so the talent is less spread out. Also, brazil and latam have some good teams because all the best players have been put into 2 or 3 teams. So it makes more sense that NA (and Americas league) will be better and NA ascension will also be better too. Finally, the reason why pacific league is so bad (or mediocre) is because japan was a one team region, korea was a one team region, and SEA was only really dominated by PRX and XIA. Therefore, Americas will be the strongest and most entertaining league for a while.
