What do you guys think about a map that could let the team place it's own smokes? I'm not too sure how it would be implemented into the game but for how it would work I think it would just have 2 pre-placed smokes ready in common places for defenders and 1 smoke for where attackers would come ino site. For example CT and market on Ascent B site for defenders and B main/A main for attackers. The map would be designed with this in mind so you wouldn't worry too much about unsmoked choke points.
I could see people thinking that it could make controller characters less of a good choice on one map which could be potentially bad game design but they would also be made stronger since they wouldn't have to worry so much about smoking for the team so Much. They can smoke other parts of the map instead or for themselves.
It could also make for some interesting team comp choices, since a team could potentially opt for a different character other than a controller or we could see solo viper more often or harbor in general.
