It's going to be a rough road for any of these teams. Every team will have to show off their setups and overall strategy to try and escape the group, leading to an undoubtedly harder time in the group stage - the non play-in teams have the advantage in preparation from the get-go.

This is a ridiculous group, since Naos and Bleed are the top 2 teams from T1 APAC regions, along with XIA who are , in my opinion, one of the favorites to win the whole event.

Do it manually, do it based on popularity, or do it based on a single stat (average acs in role seems to be the best option, here)

If this is regarding automatically updating standings when matches happen, you'd have to use webscraping.
If this is about the points allocation, I imagine you'd just use the stats from the games they played to allocate points. If they're out they'll no longer give the user any points.

Up to you. Limiting the players per role leads to more diversity in fantasy teams, leaving it unlimited may lead to more participation due to increased familiarity with the players.
Regarding stats, you can either scrape VLR.gg or use the RIB.gg analytics bot in their discord : https://discord.gg/aceNhaM . The latter is probably better, but some stuff needs a premium subscription. However I don't think you'll need one for this project

her entry potential doesn't really compare to jett or raze and she doesn't have the ability to play off-angles like reyna.
not a bad agent, but the stuns and walls are usually already taken care of by the initiator and controller on many maps.
I think there's potential to work her into a comp, but I can't really see how she would substitute jett.
Split specifically may be a good map for her, since jett isn't super good on that map and her wall, stuns get a lot of impact due to the tight chokes and close angles.

CS has a massive following in Eastern Europe, where it really doesn't have much competition. It's massive in Brazil and hasn't really changed even with Valorant.
Sure, it's not global. But it has a loyal and so far unchallenged viewer base which is arguably just as important. Saying CS is "not doing fine" when it consistently pulls record-breaking amounts of viewers is incorrect.
The argument would be that CS's potential is lower due to a lack of worldwide fans in big regions (APAC, and even NA to an extent), not that it's in a "bad position".
Having fans worldwide is a massive advantage that Valorant has, but is not necessary to be a successful esport.

I think that's a non-issue, tbh. Since it's a riot-hosted and produced event they'd much rather ensure safety standards are met rather than possibly risking PR. Especially since multiple players got covid in Champs, despite being quarantined.
Either way, that should (hopefully) no longer be an issue later this year, or next year at the most.
Larger third-party events are already confirmed to be encouraged and possibly even supported in the last quarter of this year, too. The argument still exists that these events will not feature the best teams due to a lack of VCT-related incentives, but I think it will be balanced by teams making roster moves wanting to gain experience in the now extended "off-season".
I can't speak for the casuals' awareness. Compared to esports-heavy titles like LoL, DOTA, or CS, I think the percent of casual players who care about the competitive side is definitely lower, but that's a result of the game's recency. The champs music video has like 25 MIL views, so I imagine many players are at least aware of it, but don't care to watch it.
If anything, increased viewership numbers across the board really only indicate steady growth for the scene. NA,EU, and APAC have all had 100k+ peaks, which is a massive improvement over this time last year when only NA had those peaks.

I disagree about the game sense, too. Sure, they're not making mid-round calls or making reads, but their intuition plays an important role in many of their frags and is what elevates them beyond just incredible aimers.
For example, in clutches they often understand where the enemies are, which is visible in their crosshair placement.
