The fact that they had this roster in the first place is a pretty good indication that this probably won't happen, thankfully. There was a big pool of older players they could've pulled from, or kept the players from their previous roster signed. At the end of the day they chose to add players that were largely unknown quantities on the tier 1 environment.

The foundation for them is there, yes; on the contrary, I think the longer offseason will actually help AG quite a bit. They definitely need a period to mentally reset & analyze their year, and it'll allow them to purely focus on brushing up & polishing their ideas. The only thing that could potentially ruin this is a drastic roster change, but with Ego's take on the game I don't think that's likely to happen

it's for sure the vision that Ego has for the team, and I'm all for it. What he turned Bunt and Monk into is exactly what they need for it, too

If they replicate their improvements from this year in the offseason & 2025 I can definitely see them being one of the more scary teams come champs next year. This year was a proof of concept, and they definitely proved its validity!

To be fair I think the mental problems were simply confidence; nothing less, nothing more. Bunt and Monk were the only two players on the roster with any form of international or big stage experience. Spitfires was cut from RA, DelB was largely an unknown going into the year due to his quiet performance during the offseason, and Sword9 has mostly been in the backseat throughout the 2023 season. I think if you give this roster time they'll polish themselves into a g2-esque team of fundamentally strong individuals who will cook whenever needed.

There were some highs and some low lows, but all in all I would say it was a success! Were they great? Not really. Were they bad? I'd also say no. What I will say though is that there is promise in the system that Ego & Sword9 have set up. Going from bottoming out in kickoff to the upper half of the league with a ragtag team of what was seen as underwhelming mechanical talent is really good! I hope management keep letting Ego & Sword9 cook with the roster next season, and that they can cultivate a more confident mentality going forward to fully materialize the ideas they come up with. The league is only going to get better & even more competitive as more competent systems are formed, so the fact that they already have a decent structure to build their fundamentals is a great sign. #BuntTheMonk

having to switch igls is a bigger adjustment than you realize, esp since Yoman & ValorantAnalysis were pretty much on the same wavelength before they were forced to choose between him and Stew

posted 6 months ago

they figured it out at their lowest point. can't wait to see the core perform next season

posted 6 months ago

FPX by a landslide. the rest are fully capable of upsetting some teams though

posted 6 months ago

he's got one more in him! (FNS didn't)

posted 6 months ago

same i just needa find a website that displays their shit throughout the season. liquipedia wasn't super reliable & vlr is in the dark for 90% of it

posted 6 months ago

I'm pretty sure that most of the teams in CN tier 2 scene will have rosters for next year. They seem pretty all in on the idea

posted 6 months ago

ngl all i really know is that qiuye plays for them, but he was pretty mid on TEC. haven't watched any of their games to judge them

posted 6 months ago

💀

posted 6 months ago

they'll get filtered out this offseason. there are some DEMONS in CN tier 2 atm

posted 6 months ago

that's the one thing. unfortunately not every team's gonna have a NathanD or DestroyeR that's ahead of the curve so it's gonna be a while til most of them find their Bail

posted 6 months ago

it's either a fun af slugfest of 10 different mechanical outliers or a clown fiesta that's equally as funny to watch

posted 6 months ago

i predict it's gonna be another LoL situation. gonna gradually get super drilled but still have psychopaths who do whatever tf they want that'll catch a lotta ppl outside the region off guard

thx my fellow stew fan 😊

pls don't choke this qual Trace 🙏

AG's biggest weakness doesn't apply against NRG (ppl shooting back). 2 days of Ego prep no-diffs Poolchan

posted 7 months ago

honestly he prolly thinks it's a better long term decision to bide his time in the region as it develops. if DRG get their shit together next season and get more international experience they could climb pretty quickly

Ambrosia is gonna farm this fraudulent bracket 😭

KBG struggled a bit against Kulin. While Kulin are by no means average in the mechanics department (even for China standards) they did rely heavily on hero plays that in my opinion KBG should've been able to deal with sooner. XLG 2-1

forgot it was bo5 so 3-1 XLG

posted 7 months ago

Unfortunate for Kulin, good shit from KBG though. They have pretty good retake floods on icebox

9ST IS THE FUCKING GOAT WTF WAS THAT 1V4

bind was all too easy for Kulin 🥱

might be a matchfixer but fuck that guy can sure shoot his gun

posted 7 months ago

with their results currently he probably will. i could see this current roster doing well next year with more time to learn and build chemistry

posted 7 months ago

furia actually pretty fun atm. loud is a progressively worsening car crash. mibr's entire schtick is that they're dogshit in every metric

posted 7 months ago

pretty much 100% accurate on both. Only thing I'll say though is that I think it's less firepower with AG and more their confidence. Whenever they're fired up they HIT

posted 7 months ago

The thing about FPX is that they're trying to find their own original solutions to specific comp problems. Everyone was questioning triple controller until ppl realized that they play fundamentally different with it compared to every team they go against, and you can't view it under the same meta lens as everything else. We can't accurately judge how it'll go until they play a series that matters enough.

If EDG flop there are definitely going to be roster changes. I don't see a world where nobody survives on it if they bomb out.

only correct reply that can be made here

posted 7 months ago

FPX is the ONE TEAM I honestly would say you cut slack for. All the series they shouldn't have lost on paper were after they locked in the top 2 playoff seed, and they're clearly just dry running experimental comps. They very well could (and probably will) look way better during either playoffs or at Champs when they optimize their theory crafting

tacolilla is right there

posted 7 months ago

regardless if that's true or not it's still such a weird decision. ig the management simply didn't wanna gamble on upcoming talent and went with a 'safer' option, but whenever i watch him it feels so bland whenever he's on entry

posted 7 months ago

did they HAVE to get governor instead of a tier 2 duelist from Thailand? the initial pickup seemed and still seems so odd to me

posted 7 months ago

i'm surprised at how non NA-biased this is!

ppl are a product of their environment. those who grow up watching slop content will gravitate towards more slop content. There's gonna be nostalgia video essays about skibidi toilet & the new faze clan within the next 10 years 🤣

posted 7 months ago

he's a product of the current generation of kids who watch stuff on youtube. ppl thought the same exact thing about creators years ago. generational shifts are CRAZY

posted 7 months ago

I do hope he's still on the staff because he's close to the team, but overall his relevance has more than passed now

posted 7 months ago

he was really good at champs too, he really only fell off when their entire stratbook changed. If he can get the team on a page that they're truly comfortable on & run with it then they'll get a lot better

posted 7 months ago

he was on stage with them last series. I do think he'll do a good job (or at least a better job than After) so hopefully they'll stick with this change

posted 7 months ago

this is goated wtf

posted 7 months ago

I'll be happy even if he's an assistant coach just get someone else at the helm next season PLEASE EDG

and his decision to take a break was a great move for everyone!
