You need to remember that Google "trends" don't show everything though. Valorant as newer game and as game that is getting constant updates is obviously going to get more Google Searches than 10 year old game with little updates. That doesn't mean that the interest or split between playerbase are similar percentages. For example I don't even remember when I have googled "CSGO" last time when I can just open Steam and CSGO from there. No reason to google it.

I think there's just so many reasons why there's so little good IGLs and heres 2 main ones that came to mind:

  1. Not only do you have to be good individually like every pro (even someone like FNS has better mechanics than like >95%? of all Valorant players) but you also have to understand and see the game in very high level, be creative, and even in a lot of cases you also need certain leader mentality. And you have to be able to do all that during games.
  2. Its hard to become good IGL without much of experience. Most respected IGLs are pretty old and IGL is just that role where you might peak when you are 30 year old. Just look at someone like Karrigan. So its overall just really hard role to start with or become. And you can't really practice it as effectively as other roles.

and overall Valorant is so young still

posted about 2 years ago

Hard to say out of any known ones, but there's def some hidden gems in tier 2 or even 3 scene who just need better structure or stability knowing how needy IGLs work can be.

Same as mine, but I have Liquid winning finals vs Guild. But I feel like people might be sleeping on Acend little. They looked decent in EMEA playoffs for relatively young team(monsteerr and vakk) and cNed finally looked comfortable on Chamber. Obviously they got rid of zeek who seemed to be their main caller so that will def change things up. But if L1NK is in decent form then they could also do some damage. But also the competition is pretty good so understandable.

just impossible I think anyone out of M3C, TL, Guild or Acend could make it

Killjoy most fun hero to play IMO

Sadly true. I really wish people cared more about them. Just watch their press conferences for example. Like them talking about Yoru etc. Funny team that seems to have good chemistry.

Fnatic

He was main tank main (Winston, Rein). So no aim required especially for the meta when he played. Nowadays even tanks require decent/good aim and tracking.

if future gen is raised by kids like this then we've lost it

posted about 2 years ago

My brain just can't understand how anyone finds this person funny and how he has such big platform. Like what the fuck happened? Seeing some of the twitter comments etc just makes me lose faith for future humanity. At least I hope he is just popular among American hood kids and doesn't spread this shit anywhere else. We are fucking doomed.

Could be decent. Hard to say. We haven't seen dimasick in quite long time, but what I remember he was decent. And he also has good amount of experience from CSGO and Valorant so maybe he is taking the IGL role? This team has a lot of firepower already so that isn't problem.

posted about 2 years ago

TL, M3C, Guild and Acend should be the favorites and its just all about their 5ths. G2 could do well, but I doubt that. And NaVi is my dark horse team even tho its unlikely.

posted about 2 years ago

They played without Jady all of last stage already.

actually good for team song like this

posted about 2 years ago

IMO Suygetsu is best sentinel player in the world and Shao is best Fade and maybe best initiator in the world. But are either of those top 1? Hard to say. So hard because roles differ quite a lot.

posted about 2 years ago

Unlikely, because winning back to back is just so hard. But I feel like they won't get countered as easily as other teams. Their style had always been antistrat and antistratting an antistrat team is pretty hard. And they don't really have any "iconic" comp that they run or at least one that would get copied or becoming mainstream. So even on that field they are in pretty good position and I could imagine this team being able to change things up quite a lot. Also I said this before their game against OpTic, but this team just has insane individual talent and that alone can win them games. So IMO they have the highest chances out of any winner team so far to back to back on paper, but its going to be hard.

I mean that seems to be the trend a little bit. Most tweets I've seen are like "well played FPX, but also nice try to PRX you did really well and had amazing run......." they are pretty much praising PRX journey as these "underdogs" from smaller region, but are bit ignoring the fact that this wasn't like Goliath(EMEA) vs David(APAC) looking at how hard FPX had it and how their journey went.

But can't really blame them since PRX is likeable team and from smaller region. And people don't really know about FPX that much that is bit sad.

posted about 2 years ago

If they want to stay in EMEA I think they have good chances tbh. "CIS" likely has 2 spots out of 10 teams (my prediction based on performance and size) and FPX is considered to be CIS team or at least were because they chose to with 2 Russians and 1 Ukrainian.

NA= EG
EMEA= TL
APAC= Bleed?
SA= KRU
EA= On Slayers

Actually really hard one. I think anyone out of Shao, Suygetsu or even Ardiis could take it tbh. Ardiis had amazing individual performance all tournament long minus last 2/3 games. Suygetsu had really good performance and had insane game against Fnatic(?) and won FPX their final round. And Shao was so clutch all tournament long and was amazing in finals as well. But I would go for Shao because he was so clutch and definitely helped mental in that way.

posted about 2 years ago

Sad that Ardiis was having bit rough game against OpTic and PRX because those dropped his rating quite a lot. He was #1 before those.

posted about 2 years ago

I mean their journey is just insane. Like can it really get more insane if you think about it. Just sad that most people ignore this or don't know about it. Everyone talking about PRX, while FPX has had everything going against them this year. Even their IGL's homecountry is getting invaded by Russia and you can literally hear helicopters flying over in one of the interviews or videos IIRC. Its just insane.

posted about 2 years ago
  1. FPX vs PRX
  2. Fnatic vs Sentinels I agree because it was maybe the most hype finals in terms of teams and viewership and really close 3-0.
  3. Ace vs Gambit just because it was EMEA vs EMEA
  4. Envy vs Gambit
  5. LOUD vs Optic
posted about 2 years ago

Their run was just amazing. From playing with a sub to getting out of groups to making full lower bracket playoff run with most rounds played

posted about 2 years ago

he has likely had like 4h sleep per night for whole tournament

posted about 2 years ago

their run was crazy

posted about 2 years ago

wtf just bad timing from f0rsaken but wtf

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah he has definitely had a pretty bad match overall, but he did so well all event long so no problem tbh

posted about 2 years ago

literally broken ult 0 damage doesnt make any sense

posted about 2 years ago

For sure, IMO they were most underrated team heading into Masters. Didn't expect them to be in final, but IMO they had decent chance. And were def in my top 5 with Fnatic, OpTic, LOUD and PRX/DRX.

posted about 2 years ago

Best sentinel player (non Chamber)

posted about 2 years ago

Because that is how PRX plays. If they didn't play like that they likely wouldn't have even made it this far if I'm honest. Can't say for sure tho.

posted about 2 years ago

Acend vs Gambit was better

posted about 2 years ago

Has nothing to do with that. Its just the basic stuff out there. If enemy is on site with viper ulti 5v5 that means there's for 99% chance someone is on A Haven or pipe always. Going to middle of A nest and spamming with Vandal just guarantees you will get sprayed through.

posted about 2 years ago

God aim, but feels like Suygetsu isn't that good Icebox player. He had some weird decisions 1st half that cost them. Like going to A nest and spamming gen without expecting him getting sprayed through the wall. Like that is just basic stuff.

posted about 2 years ago

Such good read from FPX while they were also aim diffing PRX super hard. But its only map 1. Definitely mental breaker tho unless they reset well. They rely so much on confidence.

posted about 2 years ago

IMO they would have been one of the favorites. They were arguably best EMEA team for Masters 1 meta. They knew how to play fast and aggressive unlike G2 lol

posted about 2 years ago

Usually PRX makes other teams play their game, but FPX makes PRX play their game.

posted about 2 years ago

Strength of EMEA vs most other regions IMO. EMEA support players are just so good and teams don't just rely on cracked duelist or Chamber. At least not as much. Can't say too much About Fnatic, but both FPX and Guild have this.

posted about 2 years ago

Their default Bind comp is just perfect counter against PRX tbh and on top of that FPX are arguably best antistrat team in the world. They are so good.

posted about 2 years ago

After this tournament it will become the norm I feel like. Especially if FPX wins.
