I mean you could put any of the top NA and EMEA Jetts to SEA and they would have higher stats than F0rsaken (obviously if they could talk same language). No disrespect, but farming weaker regions doesn't automatically make you best.

posted about 3 years ago

Could be, but there's something with the whole layout as well. Reminds me of some of the non popular maps that CSGO has. A lot of tight corners and stuff like that.

posted about 3 years ago

This map and sites really remind me of CSGO. I don't know why that is, but its a good thing.

posted about 3 years ago

Most likely. Just explained why some people are talking about EU teams and why its impossible for another SEA team to take their spot.

posted about 3 years ago

It would be unfair, but if they want to have 16 teams like they planned then adding 5th EMEA representative is pretty much the only thing they can do. I don't know how visas exactly work, but to my understanding the process can take some time and add possible quarantine time to that and you are out of options. Masters start at like 7 days.

posted about 3 years ago

You completely missed the point. Its not about who lives close. Its about who can realistically attend. If Bren can't make it that means that no other SEA team can take their spot, because they simply don't have enough time to get their visas and quarantine. And in this case where Masters are happening in a week the possibility of any other region taking that spot outside of EU is really small because of the time window. EU teams are in EU, so they don't need visas or quarantine for long. Teams don't just teleport to tournaments. There's bunch of stuff happening behind the scenes especially now with covid.

posted about 3 years ago

Because next event is held in Europe. I don't think any other team from outside of EU would get their visas before Berlin. If they need to replace Bren then EU team is almost the only option.

You need to be delusional to think this would happen. No Tier 1 org would sign Sinatraa. I repeat, NO tier 1 org would sign Sinatraa. Accusations like this are all that is needed for tier 1 orgs to not even think about this dude. It would be terrible terrible move for org's PR.

I'm not too sure about that Tenz part this time around. This is super unpopular opinion, but I feel like he has to prove himself again in Berlin. I mean he played amazingly in Iceland, but at the same time they spend like 2 weeks+ there before the tournament even started. This time around they will only have like max week to stay there before the tournament start. At least I've gotten the idea that he struggles with traveling and staying in hotels etc and now he won't have as much time to adjust to it. I might be wrong (most likely), but I feel people jumped on this "Tenz performs amazing on LAN" too quickly after 1 "semi-tournament". No crowd, untypical stage layout, 2 week quarantine etc.

posted about 3 years ago

I don't think that will happen. Gambit's attack side is pretty bad if they play anything like they did in qualifications. CR should get decent amount of rounds out of that IMO. If Gambit starts with CT side both map then I can see them hard diffing Crazy Raccoon. I think biggest diff will happen in VS vs Paper Rex.

posted about 3 years ago

Not really. Both Envy and Sentinels should place #1 in their groups. And 100T can upset Gambit, since I think people forget that Gambit has its struggles especially under nerves. They didn't play their typical style against ACE and SMB and seemed way more relaxed during those games.

pretty straight forward maybe couple upsets.

posted about 3 years ago

That doesn't mean anything tbh. Obviously everyone wants to play against them when they are THE Korean #1 team (from the beginning). Everyone wanted to play them in Iceland as well, but they didn't even make it there. Its more about their imago not about how they play exactly. If you look 100T new video for example Hiko predicted SMB and ACE to get out of groups and Asuna was thinking the same, but ended up predicting SMB and VS just because ACE lost map on LVP.

Most likely. I mean matchfixing is a serious thing. I think some people will get punished hard while some may get away with less. Depends on how major it was and what was the role of each player. But at the same time we have players like Brax and Steel still competing in tier 1 Valorant, so who knows.

posted about 3 years ago
  1. CSGO is still really really popular in EU and overall it still is like 2nd biggest esport title.
  2. They make good amount of money, even players on some of the T2 teams.
  3. They have played CS for years, so its more comfortable for them and they have dreams in that game.
  4. They love the game and prefer it over Valorant. Like many CSGO pros do.

In NA its logical, since there's less and less competitive teams and the scene has always been kind of rocky. In EU its not logical unless you don't clearly have future in CSGO like in case of Jamppi (before unban).

LoL Worlds are by far the best esport tournaments, but individually maybe Katowice Major 2019 because of ENCE's run. Was huge moment for Finnish CSGO. There's been bunch of good tournaments so impossible to pick one, but that came to mind. Really liked all Overwatch League/WC stuff as well.

Expected score tbh even as EU fanboy

Group A
Acend
SMB

Group B
Envy
VK

Group C
100T
Gambit

Group D
SEN
G2

I would say they are all equal. Obviously one big difference is that EMEA is more competitive region than KR, so teams are more battle hardened. And I have seen some people saying that VS may struggle against top NA and EMEA teams based on their playstyle.

I saw that WeirdChamp

posted about 3 years ago

Acend 7th under Gambit and SMB? Acend is way more well rounded than Gambit.

posted about 3 years ago

This. Seeding matches were really different compared to qualification matches. Acend, Gambit and SMB were just running around taking duels all over map during their last games.

posted about 3 years ago

If this is true then placing 4th on EMEA should have been the goal for every team. I mean just think about G2. They will most likely place 2nd on this group and if they get out they won't face Sentinels on first round of single elims. Obviously I may underrate Crazy Racoon and Paper Rex heavily, but I don't know about that.

posted about 3 years ago

I think Acend will be just fine as long as their players don't choke on LAN. I'm not too sure about G2 though. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make it out of groups, but anything is possible I guess. Let's hope for the best!!

We EU boys will conquer Russia and Turkey and make EMEA imperium! Before Berlin of course.

CIS best FPS region. Especially compared to the population.

Acend vs Gambit

posted about 3 years ago

No cope literally yesterday both Acend and GMB were just running around with minimal usage of proper strats. Even Gambit players admitted that they were playing troll comp on Haven. SMB is all about aim, the moment they face a team who properly uses strats and who actually wants to win they will start losing. They are good team, but not as superior as it looks like currently. You heard it here first!

posted about 3 years ago

SMB is using all strats in seeding matches, while ACE and GMB are saving them for Berlin. That's the difference.

edit: where are the downvoters now? KEKW the moment Gambit started doing some smart plays SMB fell

posted about 3 years ago

Originally, but it got changed and now top 2 teams of each group makes it.

posted about 3 years ago

How does it matter? Acend should have no problems at making it to top 2 in any group. That's all that matters. They could even take the first spot from teams like 100T or Envy. Ofc no one wants to face Sentinels in first round of single elims, but at the same time any of the other 3 group teams could face them first.

posted about 3 years ago

Because this game didn't actually matter outside of prize money. There will be 4 groups, top 2 of each will make it to playoffs. Acend should have no problem getting out of groups no matter where they place. 3 groups will have 1 NA team each, every group will most likely have 1 EMEA team, 1 group will have VS and rest are kind of whatever. And they most likely won't even place to same group with Sentinels like if that even mattered.

posted about 3 years ago

I think you took this game bit too seriously

posted about 3 years ago

Based on their recent games. I just don't see them winning against top NA or EMEA. But, as I said who knows...

posted about 3 years ago

Have I said that they are from EU? My point is that Acend losing seeding matches against SMB and GMB doesn't automatically make them worse than some team they haven't played against. This poster is trying to say that KR is better than this even though that most likely isn't the case. I would say SMB/GMB/ACE are better than Korean's 1. seed. But who knows how they would match.

posted about 3 years ago

What is this logic? I would say GMB/SMB > VS.

Sentinels vs 100T/Envy/SMB/Acend/Gambit/VS

posted about 3 years ago

Terrible take that doesn't make any sense. Losing to a team doesn't automatically make you worse than rest of the teams. Both teams played really well.

posted about 3 years ago

Acend should win against Gambit unless they mentally boomed, so we should see ACE vs SMB rematch. After that we can crown the best team in EMEA.

posted about 3 years ago

that's kind of what adaptive gameplay looks like.

posted about 3 years ago

At least now they have some footage to look through. SMB isn't bad Split team either.

posted about 3 years ago

I actually hope that Gambit is in same group with Sentinels. I feel like they are better fit than G2 to fight against Sentinels.

posted about 3 years ago

Pretty much semis will be made of 4 of these: Sentinels, Envy, 100T, VS, Acend, SMB, Gambit. Hard to see any other region making it there over these.

posted about 3 years ago

He is good player during his good days, but he is just really inconsistent.

posted about 3 years ago

I think its around 60% Jamppi and 40% Soulcas unless they have changed.

posted about 3 years ago

Here EU games usually start at 4PM/6PM/8PM and NA games like 10PM/12AM. So its decent.

posted about 3 years ago

I don't think they are more patriotic than others, its just that their patriotism and culture is different compared to a lot of other countries. Good and easy example is flags for example. In USA people show respect and pride towards their flag by portraying it everywhere from schools to houses etc. While in countries like Finland (where I am from) people show respect and pride towards the flag by only showing it during important events. We see the American way as disrespectful. Obviously you also need to add that in general Americans may not know as much about the world (outside of USA) compared to people who come from places like Europe. So they may not realize their faultiness. People here see Americans as ignorant and arrogant.
