yay was that good, but the fact that he got dropped by C9 made him lose all of his momentum as a great player. He was just stuck in Tier 2 because he signed with DSG. But the fact is, that did not make him improve. Then he joined BLEED, who were just a pile of shit since they dropped juicy and nephh. yay had to hard carry a team with communication issues, language barriers, and team chemistry problems. On top of that, he hasn't played Tier 1 valorant in a long time.
But that doesn't mean that the "y0y" posts aren't justified. When I watch his gameplay, he still plays like it's 2022. Valorant's meta always changes, so even if u had a good year, if u do not embrace the meta, it could be detrimental for a team full of big ambitions (like BLEED).
I still think it is kind of his fault for his downfall, but other factors made it bigger than it should be.
thing is, valorant's meta keeps changing every year, so even if yay was the best player in 2022, he might be just a mediocre player now. Still, he hard carried BLEED, I still respect him for carrying 2 shit teams (DSG and BLD)
That is why I think the y0y posts are a bit justified
