PART 1

Sentinels analysis in VCT Champions Seoul
SEN v FNC

Map 1: Sunset (only doing 1st half)
SEN Map Pick, FNC Pick ATK

SEN: Raze, Omen, KAY/O, Gekko, Cypher
FNC: Raze, Sova, Astra, Cypher, Breach

Round 7: SEN start with a 1-1-3 setup. FNC start with a 1-3-1 setup. SEN aggros towards A Main and takes control. Chronicle tries to deny the space with a drone but SEN does not falter. FNC walks up Top Mid again. SEN are prepared with Sacy and Zekken holding it. FNC walks through and Boaster dinks Zekken. Sacy sprays and Zekken ults for a pick. Zekken being low dies mid air to Chronicle before shooting his ult making it a 4v5. SEN fight Mid to even out the round. FNC denies this by running up Market killing johnqt. 3v5. Boaster Astra wall and Zellsis makes a play but flashes himself (shit can). SEN fight Market, Boaster peeks and kills Sacy. Zellsis kills Derke and Boaster but TenZ dies to Chronicle Top Mid solidifying the round to FNC. Chronicle kills Zellsis.

What SEN could've done better
They can't figure out the Top Mid play and try to solve it with a Raze ult but does not work out since Zekken was low from Boaster. This round felt like hero plays to be honest. Zekken ulting, johnqt peeking Market, Zellsis flashing through the wall but flashing himself. Not very good. SEN really needed to figure out how to hold this Top Mid play from FNC. Good round from FNC.

Round 8: SEN start with a 1-2-2. FNC start with a 4-0-1. Zellsis peeks B Main, breaks the Cam and knifes for info and sees nothing. FNC walk up B Main. SEN take A Main space. Zellsis sees Derke and Zekken swings with his op and misses. FNC begin the B execute. SEN play retake. Zellsis ults to deny counter retake util. Sacy ults mid for info. Chronicle counter ults to delay. FNC does not plant and wait for SEN to flood out but SEN doesn't flood since no plant. FNC decides to take Market. Alfajer flashes and Derke nades and kills Sacy. 4v5. Zekken trades TenZ and Sacy and makes it a 3v3. Zekken gets another as FNC try to trade out Zekken. Zellsis kills 1 site and Chronicle trades. 2v1. Chronicle kills Zekken but johnqt trades and wins the round. Score is 4-4.

Crazy chaotic round from both sides. A lot of ults and util made this round weird. SEN played smart not flooding out site since FNC didn’t plant. FNC made a great decision fighting Market and killing Sacy and TenZ as he tries to trade out. Zekken with a good play fighting from Boba trading Sacy and TenZ making it a 3v3 and FNC panicked to trade Zekken but only made the situation worse for them. Overall good rounds from SEN and FNC but still some mistakes.

Round 9: SEN start with a 1-1-3. FNC start with a 4-1-0. Zekken peeks B Main to break the Cam and FNC take fast B Main control. Zekken falls back to site and gives up B Main. SEN takes A Main again but with TenZ oping Tiles and Sacy holding T. Chronicle jump peek and TenZ misses the shot and both fall back to site. FNC goes Mid and B Main and prepare a B Split. Boaster peeks Market and kills Zekken with a CLASSIC?!?. Derke blast packs up site and kills johnqt. SEN fall apart and it’s 3v5. SEN try to salvage the round but peeking from Boba and end it dying. Sacy tries to save and FNC hunt him down.

What SEN could’ve done better.
Zekken whiffed the shot which is unlucky but johnqt dying there is really bad. They needed to stop giving up so much of Mid and start holding it better since that’s their main problem this half. They also should’ve 3 man saved as winning a 3v5 with bomb planted is almost 0% winrate.

Round 10: SEN start with a 2-0-3. FNC start with a 4-1-0. FNC takes B Main as SEN takes A Main. FNC runs back toward A Main to reclear. SEN 4 man walk down Mid. Sacy dies but gets traded and Boaster falls making it a 4v4. SEN tries to fall back but Zekken gets picked from Chronicle making it a 3v4. hiro Cypher ults giving FNC info that B is a clear site and plant. Derke ults into Market and makes space. Chronicle decides to lurk up Top Mid. SEN want to fight Market but FNC doubles up but johnqt kills Alfajer but Derke trades it killing Zellsis but johnqt traded Zellsis making it a 2v3. Chronicle speeds up the flank but TenZ hits a 180 and kills him. Derke swings and trades Chronicle. johnqt trades Derke and 1v1 but 0 time. hiro plays perfectly and wins. Score 4-6/

What SEN could’ve done better
I like the push down Mid but Zekken not having awareness that they are gonna want to trade is very questionable. Very scrappy round from SEN too as they looked clueless. Good round from FNC and great ult usage granting so much space and info.

Round 11: SEN start with a 0-1-4. FNC start with a 1-3-1. SEN gets super aggressive towards A Main and push down with 4 people. hiro goes B Main and waits for a push up. FNC are holding Mid for a push or peek. Zekken ults A Main but hits a tripwire and Chronicle swings and kills Zekken and gets traded but Zekken’s ult. 4v4. FNC speed up B Main with all the noise and info. FNC take a while to hit and SEN catches up to B and is ready to retake. Derke swings Boba and kills TenZ. johnqt misses and does not trade. 3v4. Sacy walks into site with TenZ’s midsite smoke covering him. Sacy tries to make a play walking into the smoke but hiro reads it and kills Sacy. 2v4. Zellsis dies and johnqt saves. Score 4-7.

What SEN could’ve done better
They didn’t play retake and just didn’t do anything together. 0 coordination after Zekken dies and it happened in another previous round. They need to figure this out when Zekken dies early and they look uncoordinated and clueless. FNC also played mediocre this round but hit some nice shots and won them the round.

Round 12: SEN start with a 2-1-2. FNC start with a 2-3-0. FNC B Splits very fast with Breach ult into Market and Derke following up with satchels. Derke doesn’t anticipate a swing from Zekken and dies. Boaster makes an insane play and kills Zekken and Zellsis. 3v4. Sacy ults mid and hits Boaster. 3v3. FNC takes B and plants while SEN play retake. hiro makes a play by going Boba and catching johnqt off guard and makes it a 2v3. SEN reclear toward Boba and Sacy ults to clear site and hits 2 B Main. They can’t capitalize off this and gets util spammed. FNC win the round closing out the half 4-8.

What SEN could’ve done better
Zekken needed to swing Boaster and not have him kill 2 of them. johnqt should’ve have more aware that they could be in Boba. FNC changed the tempo and made a very fast split catching SEN off guard. FNC had a great half with great rounds and SEN could not read their gameplan. FNC closed out the half with a 4-8.

Final Thoughts: FNC play a very slow and punishing attack half. Making sure to always reclear and never give too much space to SEN to avoid a stack. Very interesting but also boring icl. SEN could not read this and always fought A Main which always got recleared by Chronicle drone and always saw 2.

Round 1: SEN Start with a 0-5-0 Setup. Zellsis Knifes deep A Main for info, TenZ 1 way deep A Main. FNC Start with a 0-4-1 Setup. Cam B Main for push, get 0 early info. Boaster gets hit by a Zellsis knife. FNC walks out of mid and clears back A Main. TenZ’s 1 way falls and Astra’s star gets pulled back to jump anyone holding aggressive A Main. FNC walks up and clears elbow, grabs the orb and begins their exec onto A at 1:00. SEN plays retake. Zellsis knifes close and gets 2. Zekken takes first contact onto hiro and dies. SEN slows down the retake and contacts up the site. FNC play 4 elbow 1 A Main. SEN gets time pressured and takes 1v1s and loses. hiro from lane kills 3. FNC win.

What SEN could’ve done better
Zekken was caught by a gap in the lane cage. Zekken did not get traded which slowed down SEN’s retake and put them in a clueless state. They should have made their retake come from CT instead of lane as it’s easier to clear out angles and elbow is where most players are playing. Leaving Sacy or Zellsis lane to provide flashes into the site would’ve worked much better as it’s harder to flick lane then CT. After getting onto the site they became time pressured thus losing discipline and coordination and started to peek 1 by 1 with 0 util to anyone to back them up. FNC then wins the 1v1s and gets traded by SEN which another FNC player traded. Overall a very bad round and bad read with the mid play from SEN. SEN CT Retake

Round 2: All 5 of SEN walks down mid hoping to catch FNC players off guard for a pick and a gun. FNC decides to go B and takes the site fast. SEN tries to flood onto site but FNC quickly shuts them down and the round is over.

What SEN could’ve done better
Honestly this was a good round but another bad read in thinking FNC was going mid. The flood was an excellent idea to catch FNC off guard but they were in the right places at the right time. Good from FNC.

Round 3: SEN opens up with a 1-2-2 Setup. FNC starts with a 0-3-2 Setup. SEN doubles holds market. FNC walks up top mid. SEN has a gap mid and FNC walks up all the way towards Boba where FNC also walks up market and kills 1. Zekken whiffs in Market and dies. johnqt falls back site and gets killed from Boba not knowing they're there. Zellsis scrambles to make a hero play and dinks 2 with Bulldog and dies. SEN save.

What SEN could've done better
This was a very poor round from SEN. Double up market but no cam top mid is an obvious mistake they should've realized. johnqt falls back to site but doesn't realize they're up Boba and dies because of no cam top mid. Perfect round from FNC capitalizing on SEN's mistake wins the round.

Round 4: SEN starts with a 0-2-2. FNC starts with a 0-5?-0. FNC walks up tiles to find Sacy holding them. Sacy kills 2 and SEN have a 3v5 advantage. FNC start contacting up elbow. TenZ is holding and sees 1 and falls back to CT. SEN flood the site after knowing FNC are deep in elbow and can't fall back easily. TenZ flashes them and TPs across. TenZ kills 1 and it's 5v2 for SEN. Sacy mollies elbow and double swings with Zekken and kills Boaster. Zellsis ends the round killing hiro.

SEN played very well during this round playing coordinated, disciplined. Not much to say what they did wrong. Score is 1-3.

Round 5: SEN starts with a 1-2-1 setup. FNC started with a 4-1-0 setup. Zellsis wants to knife close B Main off contact but instead Alfajer stuns B Main and Zellsis feels pressure and knifes. The knife gets 0. FNC slow down the round and rotates back toward A. Sacy uses thrash to get info on Tiles and Mid. Sees no one and grabs thrash. FNC tries to walk up A but Sacy decides to thrash for info and sees Breach, Sova, Raze. SEN know they wanted to do a A hit. TenZ presmokes deep elbow. TenZ 1 ways lane. Chronicle drones and Sacy mollies. At 0:26 Derke ults in and FNC starts the site hit. SEN groups up fast to play retake. SEN fake retake to try and bait out the Breach ult but no Breach ult comes. TenZ peeks from CT and hiro kills him. Zekken nades the middle of the site and kills 2. Zekken follows up with a blast pack into site. Sacy sees Chronicle A Main and delays for johnqt flank. Alfajer Breach ults and Sacy flashes A Main. johnqt kills 2 on the flank and goes elbow to finish the round killing Alfajer.

Overall good round from both SEN and FNC. It was looking like an FNC round win but then the Zekken nade changed it all. I think Alfajer should've used Breach ult as soon as they died but it's hard to tell in that exact moment. FNC could not trade anyone on site and dies to flank after. Good use of thrash to clear Tiles and Mid then A Main and confirm it's an A Hit. Pretty sure FNC could've hid from the thrash though.

Round 6: SEN start with a 1-1-3. FNC start with a 2-2-1. FNC Cam B Main for aggressiveness. SEN 1 ways deep A Main and hold it for space. hiro takes small amount of B Main while the rest of FNC clear A Main. FNC drones, flashes and pulls back the astra smoke to walk across the 1 way. TenZ falls back and flashes for Zekken to swing and gets 1. SEN fall back and hold a crossfire with a smoke and play 5v4 advantage. FNC walks up mid and try to do the same Boba Market split onto B. Sacy gets 1 from Market. Boaster catches Zekken off guard Top Mid. 4v3 for SEN. Zellsis is confused and goes Top Mid but Alfajer catches him and makes it a 3v3. TenZ walked up Tiles from A Main and johnqt Cypher Ults. hiro's B lurk becomes useless and FNC scrambles and get sprayed through smokes.

What SEN could've done better
The A Main hold was very good from them. The issue in this round was again getting caught off guard from the Top Mid push. Zekken and Zellsis fall even though they have advantage and make it even for FNC. The cam Top Mid was timinged as johnqt got off as soon as they smoked and walk through Top Mid. The 1v1 was unlucky for hiro. Score is 3-3.

This pool is genuinely the worst pool of any game out there. The map team has no idea wtf they are doing and idk why I saw people trying to say that this map pool is good.

Sunset is retake and spam simulator 16/24 rounds. You can't play on site because the spots just fucked by util. You have to play off site to retake and make your chance of winning much higher than playing on site.

Pearl is decent now but before it was worse that sunset. You play b for free since the 3 angles get cleared immediately. Cove and plant. Run away and spam. Pray that you win the round.

Abyss is the worse one of these. Both sites it's just a box and then fucked by jett updrafting over it and maybe like a dart or stun. Plant run away and spam your cock off.

Now that those 3 shit maps are out of the way. We go on main reason the map team have 0 clue wtf they are doing.

Split was removed added back after a while then removed again even though nobody wanted it removed and the only good map in the pool and then added back 2.5 months after with 0 CHANGES. WTFFFFF

Pearl again removed even after the changes they made and then bring it back with 0 changes.

Ascent has been in this shit for 4 fucking long ass years of getting spammed by Odin 24/7. Same comps. Same strats. Same shit every map. 0 clue why this is happening.

The only good maps IN MY OPINION are Lotus which provides a lot of variety but still has a problem of Odin spam. Bind which is a good map but getting a little stale with the viper brim raze 24/7. Fracture my favorite map. I was so sad when it got removed. It provided so much comp variation and the start were unique and several teams dominated over it. GMB 2021, Optic 2021 Reykjavik, FPX 2022 Copenhagen, EG 2023 Champs. They still haven't brought it back and I'm starting to think they forgot about it.
