I don't think it's stupid at all. Derogatory language is just so widespread and normalized nowadays that it's pretty common to hear those words (for me at least). I think a person can say transphobic things without actually meaning it/being transphobic.

I kind of agree with you. But I get and understand that he's had a bad result with esports and that he isn't joyous with how it turned out.

We all set off on journeys with a desire to get to a certain destination. Sometimes the path is long and difficult, but we make it. Possibly scathed and tired, but the destination will be the desired one and all will be fine.
However, sometimes the destination just isn't what you expected/wanted it to be, regardless of how hard you worked for it. It seems that jakee has had an unfortunate encounter with this regretful situation.

Hare's death in Guilty Crown (the show isn't great) had really stood out to me when I was younger, but I guess that was probably due to me being a lonely little tin foil hat.

No other tragic anime moments come to mind now but I'm sure there are great ones that I know but can't recall.

quick edit: The last episode of Ishuzoku Reviewers really killed my mood for a bit because I knew that hilarious show was never going to get another season.
