probably the same reason top football teams don't play their best XI in cup matches - gives substitutes/youngsters the chance to play alongside their top players in the same environment
theres a noticeable lack of synergy between the M and the S too
different match but on breeze against G2 the coordination felt weak - brawk and mada losing a clearly winning 2v1 against neT with brawk attempting to fight the whole time instead of staying tucked and letting mada take contact from main and the palpable discoordination once net got to the bomb with timings etc, and flyuh + mada on the last regulation round attempting to double swing trent in ct spawn that looked more like giving 2 1v1s... with sym they win both those rounds and that has nothing to do with the skill difference between sym and mada(though sym is probably better than mada)
it's early days but considering just how much theyve been playing together these things are certainly concerning

like i said it's a strong map for them but their lotus is objectively better especially with flyuh's calling
teams would let them have lotus and they'd fuck peoples shit on it
their best map is probably lotus but ascent and haven are strong for them too, and they have very little experience with bind so the blowout there was unsurprising
brawk gets a significant amount of value in clutches and generally low number situations but i think he sometimes struggled to get the same value that a lot of at least the old mxm roster would provide
his own personal map pool feels kind of awkward too, his lotus is not all that great despite it being a comfort map for the team(given how much they pick it) and flyuh especially imo, similar story with haven(i think his haven is a bit better than his lotus, but it's not remarkable) and the team overall seem to be quite strong on it, his ascent is good and definitely plays to his strengths, and the other maps are hard to speak to - the whole team sucked at split, bind was almost never played, and the other maps arent in the pool anymore(fwiw his pearl was solid, and his fracture was weak, but the whole team's fracture was not good)
anyway to sum up the essay his map pool feels inconsistent with the team's as a whole(though that may change somewhat with a new team) and his main value in general comes from being extremely strong in clutch situations which is not great for a t2 coordinated team's support player imo
but new team new map pool and i havent watched them play in a little while so my allegations were outdated ultimately
brawk successfully defeated the mid allegations today permanently
famously, series are decided by only the very last round, no other round matters
fair enough but still seems like an odd decision
might as well get the reps in considering it seems more natural for everyone involved
