Demon1, Ethan, and Boostio have all stepped away from the grind. I’m the most worried for Boostio though, meta shifts are the most important to the IGL and he hasn’t been in any scrims as far as we know.

except that there are a lot of rounds where Zekken isn't even capable of taking space, that's why this issue is a lot bigger than it seems
I feel like his early aggression most of the time has him die in positions that are too hard or just straight up impossible to trade for and that shit has been holding him and his team back severely. We talk about how well coordinated SEN are but Zekken keeps trying to do his own thing trying to be the ideal early impact duelist by hard coinflipping a lot of fights.
This is also interesting because usually teams are played around their duelist when they need aggression, whereas SEN seem to operate just fine saving their util for themselves through some strong calling and individual plays if something like zekken dying alone in showers or him losing the first duel after satcheling down mid happens.
Round 10 of DRX v SEN Bind is the perfect example of this issue even when Zekken is part of the team's direct offense, because even though SEN had the ingredients for an easy site take, Zekken ends up messing it up completely by going for the engage and wasting Raze ult before Sacy's Skye or even TenZ's Yoru can throw out a flash, in which they then piled on for Zellsis as if he was their duelist instead lol. The round that follows right after is also another example of his lack of discipline to even play for info properly. These are very, very fundamental mistakes being made mind you when compared to the best of the best.
This could be a lack off calling on Zekken's side to get the support he needs when he wants it and/or a weakness in JohnQT's calling to incorporate an entire teammate in rounds properly. SEN haven't met a team that can punish this but they eventually will. Zekken adopted this type of playstyle some time ago that's been losing them a lot of rounds for free, but because SEN have been winning, I think they thought it was all good until today gave a glimpse on what would happen if Zekken has a slight off day, 3/16 FK:FD galore.

since they're the undisputed best team in the world right now after beating PRX for the 2nd place spot + EG dissolving, ive also come to realize that they now have a chance to out rank OPTIC in terms of GOAT status if they beat DRX decisively. OPTIC the undisputed GOAT roster always went dicks out blow for blow with this DRX core, but if SEN 2-0 then SEN > OPTIC > DRX which would put them at the GOAT team.

nah hes good but definitely overrated like how a lot of ppl would put him on the same level as aspas. He's just really, really inconsistent. He's a lot like zekken in a way but his peaks are higher.

no not really but i understand where youre coming from at least, like you wouldn't expect C0M to play Sova over Viper on a lot of maps and theres a few more that wouldnt fall into your set role criteria.
unusually long competitive drought when compared to LoL who usually end off Worlds in early Nov then start up their leagues in Jan. Why tf do they think ending off Champs in August is a smart idea? They're doing the same shit again for 2024.
there's no right answer to this because for some teams, roles = cohesion. A team like FNC relies on their specific roles and strives because of it, meanwhile EG didn't fk with that and did their own thing which also worked for them. I do believe after seeing EG's success that we're gonna see changes on how the majority of teams view roles in the future, but for now though a lot of teams still rely on roles for cohesion, and its not like they're being "restricted" or whatever, its just what works the best for them.
the only thing changing is TenZ and Zellsis' in terms of roles in matches, meanwhile with PRX, 4/6 of their roster played two+ distinct champ roles in this series with d4v41 playing three (Viper is technically half sentinel though). Half of PRX's roster also played a new agent for every map, then there's also something picking Gekko.
