when did i say they were famous…? i just said i liked them lol
well i have some bias cuz i love kiss of life, but its pretty damn hype (bass shaking the car) and julie’s verse goes hard
its not trying to be different, i just genuinely like superpower
die for you feels like a mismatch between the vocals and the instrumental
damn am i the only person on this platform who likes superpower better than die for you?
These are my predictions for who the top 20 players will be, based on current form plus some guesses on who will perform better than they did in Split 2. Justifications given for players I wanted to talk about a bit.
Undisputed GOAT controller rn.
This dude has been absolutely monstrous, the only real bright spot in a shaky year for PRX. He turns up at all times, and even though he won't be able to carry PRX to a finals, he's gonna go off individually like he did last year.
I don't know how this dude is still so underrated, he's the best player on G2 with some absolutely ridiculous game sense, aim, and utility usage.
Dude carried Heretics in the latter half of this split and has always been the consistent member of this squad.
SEN look off but TenZ doesn't, he's still playing great on an individual level and he'll continue that at Champs.
Alright, hear me out. Primmie came in very late and showed huge potential. Now that he's got time to adjust and get used to the team and how people play in pro, I think his individual ability is going to look so insane. He definitely has that ability to take over a game and dominate the scoreline. Ranked demon will finally get his time to shine.
MVP of Shanghai and always turns up when it matters.
He's had a rough later split, but we've seen the heights that Wo0t can go to. He'll be back at Champs with a vengeance (tamed because he's not playing duelist, but great nonetheless).
I think Flashback is criminally underrated, he's been the best player for DRX when they looked shaky. I think he's the best player on the team (maybe not as flashy as BuZz).
Might be a bit low, but I think FNC has lots of great individuals that can mask one another. Very good player regardless.
He's so back at Seoul.
Probably the best IGL in the world rn. I think he will be tempered a bit at Champs but will still play ridiculously well.
Easily has been the second-best player for Vitality, and at many times has been the best. Ridiculous utility usage on the Sova.
Zekken's had a rough past two matches but that can make it easy to forget that he's still an insanely strong duelist. While I don't think SEN will perform to the heights that they did at Madrid (or even beginning of Split 2), I think zekken will still be a strong duelist for this team
I switched between Mako and kiNgg for this spot for a while, but I think I have to give credit to kiNgg for how good he's made this Leviatan team look in this second split. I'm a little bit of a LEV doubter for Seoul, so other people will probably have him higher, but I still think he's a great caller and has huge potential.
HM: Alfajer, d4v41, f0rsaken, hiro, Lakia of Valorant, BuZz
nah they beat lev in lower finals first split playoffs, but other than that yeah
g2 is just bad at bo5s, theyll prob end up as the best americas team in seoul tbh but wont win
this is still true lol, g2 will go far at champs but their bo5s need work
i think they have the potential to, but im still a little worried about their bo5 capabilities; they have very few to no maps that are essentially "lockdown" which could hurt them in a grand final
definitely see them being t3 at least though
nah this is beautiful to watch, its so well put together and coordinated, i love it
g2 makes every team looks like scrubs, its insane
they punish every mistake
how many players is icy gonna match before ppl recognize that he's actually good...
think they just need more supportive utility behind it, rn theyre just relying on miniboo’s stuns and the occasional paranoia to push him into site and its not working
good excuse to post my thoughts on this
i dont rlly believe the shanghai heretics was significantly better than this version, shanghai heretics lost to gen g, lost twice to g2, and barely beat out fpx in swiss (all good teams but its not as though shanghai heretics were just dominant throughout)
they did great in the lower finals but frankly g2 trolled the map selection (why did they pick bind and lotus, two maps heretics looked great on?)
there’s obviously some amount of “woot’s mechanics are so insane that having him on duelist is better” but i wouldnt say that heretics losing to vitality is a sign that they were much better at shanghai, we just have rose-tinted glasses from woot’s insane plays
it has looked worse, but vitality are being very smart to play around it
lowk i think vitality is also just nightmare matchup for heretics, vitality’s map pool is literally same as heretics so heretics cant even play into worse maps for vit
its a bo5, much better to ban their worst map and try for grand finals here
it needs adjustments before champs yeah, but i think it doesnt need a complete overhaul from them/not even picking into it
i mean, they still beat fut on it
its being read more fs but vitality are still the only team to beat them on it so far, might be a bit early to pull the plug
bro was waiting through the whole first map with his finger hovering over the enter key on this one
one of these things is not like the others
idk, even if 100t lost to sen, sen could lose to g2 and kru and 100t still wouldnt qual
no real use thinking about these counterfactuals, 100t just gotta win one
no? claiming that 100t are better not winning implies that you think sentinels have a better chance against g2/kru than 100t do
lots of blame on zekken but tbh the johnqt setups on kj are too readable rn, 100t are just clearing all his utility easily and making it hard for sen to stack a site
lowkey i think it might be fnatic
i feel like they have such a strong map advantage by being so good on haven while still looking very clean on lotus sunset ascent
and since no one is going to be incredible/unbeatable on abyss by champs, they could win a lot on that map too
i wouldn't say they are the best team mechanically but i think theyll have the best chances in any bo5
depends on form, i think emea looks best rn but apac has huge upswing/downswing potential with prx/talon
heretics in form is rlly scary (fut learned this the hard way)
otherwise probably not, gen g would have to hit a slump somehow
i suppose there's good argument for apac, drx are looking better each game and talon had no time to cook with primmie so theyll prob look cleaner come champs time
but yeah emea looking niiiiice rn
so sick to see vitality going to champs, they deserve it with how well they've been playing
hoping this doesn't impact heretics' mental, all of them are so insanely talented, hope they bounce back at champs and show that form they had at shanghai/first two games of stage 2
whatever that thread abt identifying engagement bait should add "threads talking shit about heretics for not 13-0'ing every game" to it
heretics are confirmed champs even if they lose both
def not greatest rivalry ever but loud vs fnatic 2023 was epic, the fact that fnatic only lost to loud at champs was insane especially after lock//in
does EMEA have the three best sovas in vct in leo riens and trexx? im probably forgetting someone but these three feel so impactful in every round that they play
kc still have more points i think
prx and woot got a lot of hate after losing to g2 at shanghai, just that nobody remembers it bc the memory span on this website is one day on average
ppl on vlr refuse to accept that a team can just play better than another, it always has to be the fault of some player on the losing team for some reason lol
this is cope that they are saving strats but i do agree that sen are still quite good, they just lost to one of the best teams in the world rn
oh yeah they're insane, they're just not as flashy with their plays so they dont get as much credit as they deserve
