TH was NOT a fluke. they outclassed GenG in their match(it was close but TH still beat them strategically and by trades)
FNC do look a little washed
FUT are just FUT(honestly an achievement for even coming to champs.
VIT hard relies on sayf and if he has a bad day then they lose
no if TH wins champs then it will be TH who had the best year but by a small margin. BUt this will only happen if TH WIN champs. if they get second then GenG will be the better team because trophies.
sometimes this might be a good thing because although teams dominating is nice to watch for a while it is ultimately bad for the esport in general and honestly I don't like a team to dominate al the time. these type of changes really make the game far more interesting than lets say CS because the meta actually changes and and the teams that adapts the fastest wins

naaa karon clears tenz. hes the best smokes player this year by a mile. tenz is good but karon is just better.

i think we can safely say(unless sen make champs grands or gets 4th or 3rd) that GenG have been the best team of 2024. but since valorant's meta changes like a coin flip no team can always stay the top.
i think think FNS has better calls than jhonqt but jhon qt can aim well and has a higher impact overall on the game that FNS
most sane GenG fans didnt. but like every fanbase there are idiots and the idiots are usually the loudest so...
its a very different game compared to other similar games like CS or even games like DOTA and LOL. even lol needed someone like faker to have a dominant team. the agents, maps, and the players are very different every time and the meta changes like every 4 months. unless a team is able to stay at the top for 2 or 3 vastly different metas then they cannot be dominant.
i think its becuase theyve been dominant that they cant win. just like what happened FNC last year where in champs all the teams had their starts read.
GenG have been very dominant this year as well and since SEN didn't even make it to shanghai they got a lot of time and their starts went under the radar.
every year a team who has won a masters has never gone on to win champs. maybe this year will be different but it seems improbable cause DRX, TH, and G2 look very good. FNC, PRX, and EDG look good as well. SEN probably wont make it but hell this champs has had so many upsets I wouldn't even be surprised at this point

uhh no. mb i didnt clarify. what i meant was that Lock/in was just a way for riot to showcase the teams and cant be counted as a real tournament. it was just an official riot tournament so it holds more value than afreeca TV or Red bull home ground but not as much as masters.

its cause Lock in was not a masters so i would say that 2nd in masters = lock/in(if you look at the importance of the tournament)

FNC was ahead last year when all the teams other than EG and PRX and loud were shit. GenG have made it in a year where the competitive scene has become much closer and teams like TH, LEV, G2, PRX are much better than what they were in 2023. the meta in 2024 is very different compared to what It was in 2023 with an OP skye. FNC are still the most dominant team to play the game but GenG(if they make grand or place 3rd) are the best team to play the game.

IF GenG makes grands, then they are the only team in the history of valorant franchising to make every grand final possible. even Fnatic fell of in champs and only made 4th. you could argue that FNC was only ever beaten by loud but a loss is a loss. loud was then beaten by PRX/ EG(idk which) so its a fair assumption to make that they would have lost to the 3 best teams in the event. whereas GenG have beat every team in the world AND made it to grands.
