i mean mate....... i never even knew geng existed before 2024...... . i saw like the 2023 offseason and really liked the teams playstyle and really liked texture as a player. but i started following the team seriously after the season started.

becuase sponsors wont come when betting companies are present. when you get sponsors like mercedes benz, tiffany, audi etc...(im talking abt league, idk valo sponsors) theyd rather not come into a tournament where gambling sponsors are plastered eveyywhere, that would ruin theyre image and theyd get critisised for doing so. roit also tries to cultivate a family friendly atmosphere and gambling isnt usually family friendly
i think riot caps their tournament prizes but gives a lot of their bundle money to the teams so eventually it adds up but you cant really compare it to CS or dota cause they get gambling sponsors and gambling sponsors usually pay an insane amount of money cause they know theyll make it back immediatly from all the idiots betting on the games
they both originate from the same mod to starcraft called defense of the ancients. dota kept the original shit whereas league reinvented with diff champs or smthing like that. watch a yt vid on it.

na i think he was ill from kickoff but it became a massive issue in split 1
listen FNC was dogshit last year but leo was ill since kickoff so they had literally no comms from him and its kinda hard to win when you have no comms from your main initiator.....
t1 gave meteor an insane salary and geng were lacking enough money after keeping texture, munchkin and karon
