there are 4 in T1 bud who are good. I just don' think you watch any valorant esports if you can only name 1.

that wasn't the reason. Optic were close since they are a well established franchise but they have had many financial difficulties when riot was making the decision which was the main reason they didnt get chosen

I'm just saying you can't pull random info from your ass and when someone asks where you found this information you just say go find it yourself even though you yourself can't prove they said this.

posted about a year ago

so let's just theoretically say the next world cup will have 1 more random team from oceania for example. Does the winner of that world cup stay world champions until there is another world cup also with 1 extra random team as the normal world cup would be harder to win and less prize pool to the winner compared to this new world cup with 1 extra team. This is according to your logic.

so you don't actually know where exactly they said this. So your just going "off memory". If it's so easy to find you would just link in where they said it instead of spending a minute replying and typing messages to respond to where this "video" is.

I asked a question. Can you please tell me where they said this?

where did they say it was a showmatch? I still can't find any link or any video of riot saying that lock//in is a showmatch when I ask people

Riot said what and can you link me what they said and where they said it?

Lev might. They have a much better track record than C9 currently and they were considered top 4 in americas since 2021 all the way up until the regular season in americas. The reason they under performed is because their mental was terrible but after this break their mental should be fixed and they will perform to the standards we are used to hopefully. Kru I think is under rated and I think they will beat mibr and furia but I doubt they will make it top 3 in lcq

the word Major I would assume originated from golf as golf has masters which count as a major and the highest level of golf has 4 majors each year. To decide if a tournament is considered a major as the word is subjective almost everyone in golf determines if people internationally from many different regions and countries come together and compete with a decently large prize pool. In those terms Lock//In would count as a major.

I see ur argument also states that it was considered a showmatch tournament but would a showmatch still dictate things like region slots in future majors? The two majors/masters each year as riot said the winning region will receive an extra slot and because this year we only had 1 why did lock//in dictate the extra slot if it wasn't a major?

Lock//In was only 100k short of masters in 2021 which is considered a major so does a 20% decrease in prize pool make a tournament no longer a major?

Last point which is important is that Majors are S+ or S tier events right? Lock//In was considered an S tier event on liquipedia and by tournament standards.

something was the most prx had to an igl and they played in a more control way and not just pure chaos. something would mainly stop forsaken from over aggressing and other people. Prx doesn't have a set igl although something would make decide what sites to execute and stuff if you listen to their comms

posted about a year ago

ye but fnc will become easier to defeat overtime as the meta might shift before champs and prx came 3rd with A SUB and almost 2nd. Imagine if alfear or leo got replaced with kamyk who has no international experience and has only played twice in Tier 1 (who only gets 10 days off practice). Imagine if that happened in champs with only 10 days off practice with kamyk, do you think fnatic would still come first?

Jing is most likely going into compulsary military service next year so this champs will be his last chance to win

weird take but I agree with Gorrickon on this one but I feel like they told their opinion in an awful way. So Valorant is long overdue for a dynasty but I 100% think that it's more enjoyable watching a match that will be close and a team aren't majorly clear favourites, I'm sure most people agree with that at least. So Riot should make the viewing experience as best as possible, the whole point of watching esports is for entertainment right?

In this case the betting odds were 91% chance for fnatic to win and 9% for EG, pre match. This is the most out of any masters and champs event in a grand final.

It felt like the winner off the tournament would just be decided on the upper final with this current system (I know it's not the case in some instances). Like if EG won the upper finals then I recon the actual finals would be close to 50/50 but when it's 91/9 it's just not enjoyable to watch.

If the tournament is basically decided from the upper final then teams would just use most of their strats on the upper final and so the grand final you wouldn't see as many which sort of makes the grand final less enjoyable to watch and there are many other issues with is.

I do think the winners of the upper final should have some sort of advantage but making it directly into the grand final with more days to prepare and the losing team is also more exploitable as they will play 3-5 maps in the lower final the winner of the upper final can find weaknesses in whoever wins in the LF as they have played more maps and an extra game. I think this is already a major advantage to the winner of the UF in itself.

To fix the issue I have described I think riot should maybe let both teams ban 1 map but the winner of the UF gets to pick what sides they play on first like Attack or Defence would be a decent advantage but not as much to go from a 70/30 matchup to a 91/9.

Riot could also maybe let the winner of the UF make a new thing called a safe map maybe so both teams ban 1 map each but the winner of the UF gets to decide on a safe map or just a certain map that the winner of the LF can't ban when deciding on what map to ban.

agreed. they salty that their team lost

posted about a year ago

how is it not a major? Now ur mad bc ur only good team won 0 maps at masters and lost to a random chinese team who uses op a lot.

posted about a year ago

they had all the top 15 teams at least. Any other team that wasn't partnered wouldn't have made a dent to the top 4 teams if you think about it.

posted about a year ago

It's a major tournament. There were 32 teams and there have been many major tournaments with single elim like 2021 champs and 2021 masters. There are 3 majors each year and lock in is one of them.

bud It's one of the three international riot hosted events each year. It''s a major. Ur. just salty bc ur ass team lost to FNC when they were 11-3.

posted about a year ago

so was the first masters in 2021 not a major and champs 2021? They were both single elim

posted about a year ago

did I say matters? I said an international trophy. At lock in they had a trophy right? and teams international competed right?

posted about a year ago

bud your legit wrong. It's Who is or Who's. "Who's is" is completely incorrect. Who's is just a combination of who+has or who+is. So "who's is" literally means who is is or who has is which makes no sense. Do you think "Let's see who has is the better" makes sense?

posted about a year ago

also for lock//In. Valorant earned 20mil from that and each teams gets 350k from being a partnered team. Then with champs it would be like 400k and then in general they get paid if you look at riots posts

posted about a year ago

Well at least you didnt say "who's is"

posted about a year ago

bc valorant has something called partnered teams which gets paid a bunch. (a bit over 1mil each year from skins in game). If you look up s1mple salary its around 50k monthly and the average NA and EMEA player is earning 35k-40k. https://www.dexerto.com/valorant/global-esports-founder-claims-tier-1-na-valorant-pros-are-making-40k-a-month-2042433/

im talking about right now in monthly salary not all time or peak salaries
