....as far as I'm aware and from previous information, there's no wildcard slot.

It's still an off-season cup. Roster lock is still weeks away.

There is always a point in appreciating effort. One day they're not as consistent, but imagimr the day that they are.

Wrong. These guys beat Enigma. Stop making as if they weren't supposed to win against Enigma. The better team won then, even if there are factors involved.

No, the original time was listed as such. We updated it.

Regionalism and tribalism, in my opinion.

No, just the profiles that we have in the database. Once the match is played, it'll update to full.

There's a decent amount of third-party tournaments in SEA, but often information can be quite hard to get if you don't know where to look. I mostly encounter these problems.

Every other RRQ Valorant fanbase that exists here?

posted about 2 years ago

I mean there could be improvements. I'm just saying OP's comment sure sounds snobby consider there'll be other SEA tournaments for Pacific's OFF//SEASON.

I mean sure, but man that comment sure does sound high and mighty

We’re building an international team/roster based out of Seoul but with likely travel across APAC. Looking to build out the team with bilingual KR staff!!

That explains that.

For the love of the game. For the love of the sport. For the love of the teams and players. EU and NA teams are still competitive - amidst a new regeneration of teams like MAD, RGE, EG, 100T - combined with the old guard's experience, these teams and rosters can still do damage.

posted about 2 years ago

Do damage, RRQ. Show the Indonesian fanbase why they shouldn't dismiss you.

Yeah and what gains does that mean for you? Let the team grow. Enough is enough.

The country of the organization itself, for now.

This is my opinion: As far as I'm concerned, Riot never really gave an official regional designation for every partner team. It's the Americas, EMEA, and Pacific partnership teams. And while yes, teams have come forth like Talon saying they'll represent Thailand, I prefer to leave it as it is.

It's a political rabbit hole that plagues the Chinese video game market.

posted about 2 years ago

The game is not out in China. I assume there will still be third-party tournaments in coordination with Riot, but as long as the game isn't officially out in China, the region and teams won't have a proper sanctioned circuit probably outside of LCQ and/or Masters-Champions. Players should be still individually contracted regardless.

That and DetonatioN is one of the oldest org in Japan too. Lots of capita, lots of pedigree. You gotta have both.

You can hear it in particular in BOOM vs OPTIC's video on the Valorant Champions Tour channel.

Indonesians call the tall wall in Breeze B China, so we do have ridiculous callouts as well

posted about 2 years ago

Doesn't matter. While they will want improvement, they still want representation. Doesn't matter. They want that regional pride.

posted about 2 years ago

What Slashy said. Over time, I have no doubt fans will acclimate and learn that's the reality that they have to face. Still, I feel like people always forgot or completely didn't know that regionalism and national pride is very intertwined in APAC's fanbases. I mean, look at Challengers APAC and their subregions throughout this year. TH, ID, VN, PH, HK/TW, South Asia, OCE, and MY/SG fans bitterly bickering over which region is the best.

Honestly, The only comparison I could see is whenever international competition is involved and within the Americas and the EMEA scene, I feel LATAM, BR, and Turkey share these similarities too.

Uhuh. I talk crap to Indonesians too. I talk crap to various people who tries to be a smartass. I don't fucking discriminate.

I don't care. I will dunk on anyone who talks crap.

Not exactly, but RRQ is quite the staple in Indonesian esports.

RRQ was established in 2013, they're one of the oldest and the best esports Org from SEA.

Its founder is the son of a conglomerate in Indonesia (Midplaza Holding & Ayana Hotels) & already been in the esports/gaming ecosystem since 2011.

OneUp (sub-company of Qeon Holding, Parent of RRQ & OneUp) supports the Riot Ecosystem (Valorant & Wild Rift) by organizing Riot official tournaments in Indonesia since day 1.

They are also investing in both Valorant & Wild Rift ecosystem by building a team, their WIld Rift team is one of the best in the world.

They were one of the most notable DOTA 2 teams in SEA, they were the best Point Blank team in the world (FPS game that was popular in ID,TH,RU,BR).

They've been investing in multiple countries (ID-TH-PH-BR-MY), They are proven in Franchising (MLBB), and They have one biggest fanbase in Asia.

https://www.instagram.com/teamrrq/
https://www.tiktok.com/@teamrrq?lang=en

They're consistently on the Top 10 most views team in the past 2 years, only from Competitive match, without TWITCH CREATORS. If you count their streamers' view hours then ULALA will be on that Top 3 or Top 5.

https://escharts.com/news/top-esports-organizations-2021
https://escharts.com/news/top-esports-organizations-q2-2022

They might be a bit unknown on the international stage, because they don't have those American games, League, or CSGO titles. But if you are into Mobile Games, they're the King.

(Thanks tamago)

Sure it was a business decision, but did you know that with when the OCE League of Legends infrastructure moved to NA, the OCE league was killed as a direct effect? People were worried. It took ESL and investment cooperation to revive an OCE league. That's why I was opposed to OCE being grouped with NA in Year 1.

posted about 2 years ago

OCE moved to NA kinda killed OCE to begin with, tbh.

posted about 2 years ago

So why EDG dominated EA LCQ and made it to Champions rather than the JP and KR teams? Where were the Indian teams?

posted about 2 years ago

Talon is going to represent Thailand ffs, they literally announced it. RRQ, I assume, wants to honor and try to give their PH players chances. Their PH team just won a local LAN, right?
