I definitely think at this point that certain types of personality attract toxic behaviour.

I have gone for around 30-40 games now without any severe toxicity. 2-3 involved very moderate toxic comments which were mostly banter and funny. Nothing to ruin your day.

I have had good games where I am carrying and I have had bad games where I am not able to get a single kill for like 8 rounds. I usually try to advise people in a way that will not hurt their egos like (reyna can you help me and flash here, or viper I am pushing mid mind using your wall here?)

Remember to comm calmy and do not stop comms after losing 5 rounds (which usually people in silver and below do). This diminishes any comeback possibility.

Skill-wise Indian players at pretty good.

Just, for example, DM from velocity just used to farm SEA in CS. One of the most oppressive aimers in the continent.

He has retained that aim in valorant but all the t1 teams in India have absolutely no discipline.

SkRossi and lightningfast on GE are also very skilled when it comes to individual play (better than any SEA import could offer).

In fact, if any one of these players moved to SEA in a team they would actually do really well.

It's just that they cannot play together as a team and execute strats well enough. Their communication is bad even when they all speak the same language imagine what will happen if they bring in SEA imports.

The best thing that can happen to India is for the teams to bring in coaches from other regions. Enigma has YB from EU and GE hired Damwon's coach. Enigma is already looking like the best team in India by a fair margin (I am seeing GE getting 3-0ed by enigma right now) and GE actually did decent in APAC LCQ with shinobi as a coach with less than one month with them. They fell off afterwards.

Lastly, even if they want to bring in imports who would come? They do not have a big enough salary hike from SEA. Also, Indian teams would prefer to give salaries to Indian pros instead of giving them to a SEA pro because of course, brotherhood and friendship.

KR no.1 and JP no.1 might be better than APAC no.1 at the moment but both regions only have 1 competitive team at this level. All the other teams would get rekt in APAC challengers.

That being said, there were a lot of biases in this tournament. PRX, DRX and Zeta are regular scrim partners. That means both DRX and Zeta have an advantage over PRX who play less on well-executed stats and more on chaos.

Both knew exactly how to counter their aggression which honestly teams from NA/BR/EMEA cannot do because this is an extremely fresh playstyle for them.

Overall SEA as a region is still better as even SEA seed 2 and even seed 3-6 (very close competition) have good chances of winning at least one game in this tourney. Cannot say the same for other regions.

When you compare seeding and actual results in different tournament formats, double elimination has the best ratio of best team winning the tournament and number of matches played. Round robin tournaments are better but have much more matches played.

Iceland is a very bad spot to conduct masters in.

I think they should host the event in a city which is already popular as a tourist destination so that people actually have something to do in the time that matches are not being played. In cities like Reykjavik, people will wake up, get ready watch a game and then pretty much return back to their hotels for 2 weeks. There are some tourist spots but nothing to brag about. Maybe you could take a hot bath in Nuclear wastewater lmao.

Instead, they could host the event in an already popular city so that the people can go roam around the city in the evening. Therefore VCT Masters could be a morning thing after which you just enjoy your normal holiday.

Spending 3K dollars on VCT might not be very attractive but spending around 6-7K on a trip to Paris for a couple of weeks along with VCT sounds fair to me.
