probably because some players had a 1 in their nickname in other esports (e.g. S1mple -> s0mple, dev1ce -> dev0ce, b1t - b0t), just ruins the feeling of the nickname and 1 standing for superiority being replaced by a number which stands for literally nothing is demeaning. other creatives nicknames still clear, like Team Chokequid

you gotta win the games you are given. EDG won them, so have Lev. Bigger names like Fnatic and Sentinels, or Heretics have not won those games, therefore they are less deserving than those who are in the UB right now. Simple as that

crazy how dimasick went from avangar ( the core which then went on to win IEM RIo 2022 in CSGO) to Liquid, kinda crazy

Thanks for explaining!

so sentinels have already spent their slot on johnqt, since he is from emea? what happens if a player has double citizenship?

I don't know VCT rules at all, how many europeans are allowed in one team which competes in VCT americas?

yeah, that's why I think they need more events, what if those irrelevant franchising teams just call it quits?

posted 1 month ago

honestly I am not so sure in Vitality winning, SAW are really strong on Nuke, vitality's best map is their perma ban so SAW might actually run towards the final

posted 1 month ago

how can you talk about someone being jobless if the average fanbase of both games are still in school bro

posted 1 month ago

I would put it as America has the most talent in volume, but due to salaries and buyouts it's spread out among all teams. Meanwhile in EMEA there are like 2-4 relevant orgs and they have all the best players, same goes for APAC and China, it's just a debate of number over quality

posted 1 month ago

no one requires you to watch every single event, also I don't really know how having 3 S tier events in a year be a ton of events, but I am not that familiar with the valo scene, perhaps regional leagues are indeed tiring

posted 1 month ago

will it give one more event slot in August? So One inFebruary , 2nd in June, 3rd in August, 4th in October? CS also switches its structure, majors are now ending the season, not in the middle of it, no more franchising so invites are given via how good teams are, not how much their Orgs pay, more TOs and more regional events as well

posted 1 month ago

I know that it will change in CS, but I dunno if any changes are coming to valorant

posted 1 month ago

if that's cs, then cs is better because it has more events and the level of competiton is higher

posted 1 month ago

regionals are more important despite being less hype. Same problem as with RMRs in CS, a meaningless event gets the invite to bigger events and so you have to sweat

posted 1 month ago

emea is disappointing, china is better than in other FPS, APAC shat the bed this year, so yeah, I would argue America is the best region. Problem is, salary is a bit inflated there

posted 1 month ago

valorant lacks a tier 2 scene and more events wouldn't be a problem imo. While every game is worth more, it can lead to some teams having 10 games in a year. CS scene is just more natural tbf, and in 2025 it will get even better.
In my Opinion, Riot could add one cross-region event between Americas and emea and another one between China and APAC with all the teams. Name it VCT Rivals or whatever, just add more rivalry. As a prize you can have the teams from the winning region get one slot over their rivals. ( region which loses gets 3 slots only, regions which wins gets 5)

True, I have been on a pay check from G2 just to hate on Sentinels. I am not actually from Ukraine, i am from Somalia (Ocelote found me in a cave), all of my tribe were given an instruction of "FUCK SENTINELS". Our goal is to spiral ThongZ into a depression.

posted 1 month ago

Wouldn't it be funnier if they got top 3, lost their shit, developed insane hopium only to lose two straight and get top 3?

posted 1 month ago

The only CS tier 1 events where valorant clears are events hosted in Abu Dhabi and Malta (small crowd). CS pretty much has set tournaments in set locations, Cologne hosts for 10 years straight, same for Katowice, Copenhagen has hosted Fall Finals since 2017, Rio, Sydney, Dallas. Valorant just has less tier 1 events (btw, super retarded) and so they rotate them all the time

2025: The great Chinese People's Liberation Army arrives at champs with 4 teams praised by the great leader Xi. They proceed to shit stomp every single relevant team from every other region. They bring utter destruction to their enemies. Tenz is so traumatised that he is sucking on Kyedae's tits 24/7. Botster joined a tiktok kpop dance group by the name of '0.5 k/d talents ". The only pro left who got his respect form China is the funny fat man who now got his Chinese citizenship for "Unbreakable resilient respect to the nation of China"

posted 1 month ago

I don't think there was a patch improving it, but afaik their number sank a bit

posted 1 month ago

the only thing saving this game are streamers and a new gimmic, shit is ass

posted 1 month ago

I would like valorant to have dynamic invites to champs. Make 2 a default number for every region ( as low as it can possibly get) and any other slot depends on how many playoff teams a region has. So it's 2 + number of playoff teams, imo it would actually make champs the competition with actual best teams, not charity slots for fucking 4th place bums for 2 team regions

posted 1 month ago

also give america 5 slots next champs instead of 4, APAC deserves 3.

I am an idiot because a core which has won two international events last year now can't do shit when it matters most? Oh maybe I have to admire them for just being there, Wins aren't important, appearances are

posted 1 month ago

true, but I ve thought real fans would hold the standards for their team relatively high. Them beating their region rival and not being banished to lower bracket in the first round doesn't seem unrealistic, it seems like what people want to see from a title contender. AS I was waiting for my message to be posted, hiro falls off the map, this shit is not what title contenders are supposed to do

posted 1 month ago

number 1 seed happy that their 0-2 loss wasn't a complete blowout, actual loser mentality

posted 1 month ago

it's not about being iconic, it's about the story, it connects you to some pros you didn't know a lot about. It is not something crucial to know, but it's a cool niche thing to find out, like for example Phil Foden ( footballer) wearing number 47 because his grandad died at 47. Just little things which make you appreciate people behind the screens

posted 1 month ago

cs has a problem that tier 2 could only break into tier 1 thru the major, other parts of the year they would just grind closed qualifiers ( random most of the time) and CCT and league events. Thankfully, volvo have actually fixed that and shut down franchising, now tier 1 events invite top ranking teams, not those who pay money

posted 1 month ago

Honestly it was obvious that a script had something to do with APAC winning a trophy, the world elite has finally figured out that the best way to turn teens into slave is a sentinels win

posted 1 month ago

As someone who follows valorant from a far, I can tell you that this shit is straight up embarrassing. 5v5 FPS shooters is given to every european gamer together with mama's breast milk, shit is essential to europeans, just like racism to our neighbours. These CS rejects were supposed to dominate this game as well, but they lose to americas, china and apac. That's just honestly a new level of cringe. They didn't bring structure, they didn't bring anti stratting, they are just fodder to other regions

VCT could work without any region, technically, except for Americas I guess, the problem it raises is where do you set the line between equality of regions and fair competitive scene. Americas is the most stacked region, yet the number of slots is the same as with APAC and EMEA which are not so stacked.

posted 1 month ago

Wouldn't that just kill the development of the scene?
