They never managed to get a rematch. Optic's strength was always preparation and anti-stratting. That's also why they fall off every 3rd game with another team
it's esports, if you're not even a competitor and you openly talk shit about someone and they turn out to be the GOAT, everyone's onna start shitting on you for saying that.

I think a part of it might be the sheer amount of teams that built their rosters assuming there'd be an entry duelist and a chamber, so every team basically has two duelists nowadays and sometimes comfort picking jett and raze is better than forcing the other player to play an uncomfortable role

This is what I've always wanted for NA.
At heart I'm an optic fan solely because they embodied NA competitiveness on the international stage.
They were the only team that actually tried while everyone else was playing clout games or playing for 2nd. Everyone else in NA would literally just steal optic comps and never innovate.
This is different. NA has a multitude of teams that are able to compete with international opponents now. Everyone is trying and is constantly at each others throats to claim the spot of top NA team.
FNS has a special place in my heart but I'm rooting for EG and C9 too ngl

Back in my day we trusted FNS, we respected all of our opponents because we always knew that Optic is not a firepower team, and the core is notorious for being able to beat strong teams but still being able to lose occasionally.
I mean hell, OpTic already lost to EG once before a year ago.
Why are you little kids sending death threats over EG winning? Do you really think NRG is unstoppable? It is the nature of a strategy focused team to have to play perfectly in order to match the firepower of aggressive aim squads. Victor and crashies can't be hard carries every day and while ardiis has his highs, he's not as consistent as yay.
EG was just better yesterday, simply put.
