Tokyo was also the Masters that EDG/KK first shined no?
Banning Haven first, leaving Ascent open as a possible map for opponent to choose - isn't that letting the map pass?
We have 2 upcoming Masters GF rematches (I know GenG and TH fought again in Champs last year as well), let's see if there will be: 1) any revenge, 2) TH winning against GenG only to get 2nd again 3) regional GF for EWC
PRX's Ascent has been shaky, but they willingly let it pass for GenG and Wolves, first game almost made a comeback from 0-8, and second game managed to win. FNC's Ascent looks scary with Alfajer firing away on Chamber, but I think PRX would be willing to fight that compared to their permaban.
Of course FNC's 2023 was so much better, but let us PRX fans have our high for now man, the team does look really good right now.
Also speaking of maps dropped Fnatic came into playoffs straight back in Tokyo, if you want to compare playoffs PRX also only lost one map in Toronto play offs.
That's insane for a DSG fan, you are doing so much for the vlr community
Yeah I think the game has evolved past getting cracked duelists, because there's just too many of them. So much so that alot of these duelists have to flex to other roles like Tenz/Jinggg/Meteor, who are able to bring their cracked aim and good game sense to a more supportive and util heavy role.
Then to complete the piece we bring in these amazing initiators to set up the duelist and the team.
The thing is EDG looks like they want to play a system where the new player is S1mon's replacement. But we can see it is not working out - these new players just don't play like S1mon at all. They have swapped 2 players, and still doesn't work. So hopefully EDG can figure this mess out - move away from their original plan, or let somebody else in the current team take over that flash initiator role.
PRX played so many Lotus since Toronto and somehow keeps getting away with 2 round leads and mostly OTs...Idk how are they doing that man.
That's actually true, they become thanos against PRX
The 00.03 defuse on Pearl after something whiffed his shorty kills. I believe that was the round that was the start of RRQ's run from lower finals to grand finals and then winning the trophy (when your opponent is GenG who keeps choking I suppose it ain't that difficult)
Lakia had his wrist injury, S1mon was kicked because of team drama. And the Korean teams have always been competitive, the Korean teams have won 2 regional trophies since PRX won stage 1 last year, and they also lifted 2 Masters trophies before PRX. What does that have to do with PRX themselves? You're just yapping without context at all.
Sen need their tech pauses lmaooo
Bro decided to let Rarga rest for a bit
He equipped gaia vandal (demon1) and ion op (yay), won a trophy, and went back to his old skins. Based
Syugetsu about to remember the aim, the reset
He was their Chamber on Fracture during the Chamber meta when Forsaken had to play Neon. Now he's more confident with the OP after playing it with Sage on Sunset, love to see it.
No more Korean Zellsis :(
When attacking it feels like I need to check/clear so many corners at every turn. Mid control is really needed for both attackers and defenders. To me it feels like they took Ascent and compressed it into a smaller map and also remove direct line of sight for post plant main spam (if you don't take the paper walls into account)
GenG is still S tier in Pacific definitely, Munchkin and solo and hsk has enough experience against Pacific teams
I don't see 3-1 as close though, except for something like the PRX FNC game where they went the distance on so many maps (13-11, 15-17, 14-12)
But I know even if APAC teams fall off, DRX got our back with the usual 5/6th place.
G2 fan with the most cope:
Wake up bro PRX beat all the teams you mentioned except GenG. Not FNC/PRX's fault that the only team to beat them both have crap mental
More for the streamers reacting though. I suck at the game sadly so I don't play it that much
They saw that the trophy theme fitted them and decided to lock tf in
You know ball indeed
As a PRX supporter there's a lot of vods and stuff so I'mma just spend some time repeating them again and catching up on my sleep.
The 1v2 by Jinggg altered the world's trajectory forever
Nobody can complain about forsaken choking in an intl gf now, bro was locked tf in
Why did he not get out after getting a kill. People complain about smth there but he was trolling first
Credit where credit is due he has lineups and use his utils pretty well.
PRX has been choking map bans and picks everytime I won't be surprised if they do it again to try and surprise the opponents...
For me I'm supporting PRX to lift their first trophy, compared to Fnatic which has a team full of accolades -> Chronicle with 3 trophies, Boaster and Alfajer with 2, and Crashies with 1. But I do agree Fnatic looks super scary right now.
How is something in 2023 styling on opponents as Jett not fun to watch? How is Patmen clutching out rounds and using amazing utils to set the duelists up not exciting to see?
I mean last year they did try to win trophies but they struggled really hard.
Fr man. Then T1 gave me that same treatemnt in Bangkok GF. These Pacific teams aren't for the faint of heart.
I just checked, didn't they lose to XLG and BLG in the group stage? And BLG can't really compare to C9, they were literally 2nd seed coming into Toronto.
I would argue something isn't exactly a rookie because he was farming in Japan Tier 2 scene and making a name for himself there, but then again he did show that he could destroy Tier 1 players as well in 2023.
Patmen's utils on Fade has been insane, so many times his eye catches somebody and he always uses his prowler to check corners. Then he plays back so he can help the team fight together, or clutch out. But put him on Viper and suddenly he's lurking everywhere.
Forsaken is also looking good on Omen. He calls, he make crazy plays and also keeps hyping the team up. While something doesn't have his flashy Jett plays as much, his Yoru utils is looking really good now, and as a Yoru player I love how he keeps doing the unult + clone + shorty play.
Jinggg and Davai are just playing what they are good at, one crazy duelist and one calm sentinel (sage on Sunset OPer).
It was really unlucky that you got dropped like that, I thought you looked amazing in kick off 2024. That being said, how's life atm? Do you still have time to play Val in uni casually and/or keep in contact with other SG players (whether Tier 1 or Tier 2).
P.S Didn't expect your name to be based of Egoist, Guilty Crown had amazing songs.
The rounds they won they played so discipline and rotated to stop the plants. The rounds they lost some of them were really just them swinging 1 by 1 when there's no info.
Bro knew what he was doing, knew opponents were deaf from his ult and ran to catch a timing at elbow, then dogged to make Trent think twice.
First map last year was PRX demolishing G2 first half too iirc. Fingers crossed
Threw first map and almost threw 3rd map. Start of Stage 1 flashbacks again
Imagine they pick icebox and we see Nats and Patmen lurking and missing each other just slightly everytime.
We making champs with this one 🚆🚆🚆
They'll be fighting demons...and his name is nats...
