many tier 1 teams
Like... 2. That's what you consider remarkable from him?
The easiest to fill is the controller role (imo and various pro opinions), while Sova is the easiest to fill if you don't have good aim. But we're talking abt pro play. It takes time to prepare a pro Sova and the VCT has already started, it's a time race for anyone who's on Olof's situation.
Cloud seems like the best option rn, like he's even on a better spot than most EU Sovas.
Ofc he performed well in his last tournament, but we're talking abt not only a roster move, a game move. Who knows if he'll adapt that well to the game. I'm not saying he'll do badly, I hope for him to surprise the scene, I absolutely love Olof, but besides other "washed" players moved to Valorant and did well (e.g: Hiko, nitr0, Shaz), they did the move at the start of the game. Olof is joining an already formed scene. I'll be a hard one for him if he decides to play the game profesionally and it'll take months for him to adapt. Months of following failures end up in mental fatigue and he'll probably end up retiring, and we don't want that.
Ppl he might be a CS legend but if this move happens it's a downgrade for Fnatic. At least for the first few months he'll be adapting to the environment and aditionally, he'll be filling the Sova role. Not the most friendly role for a player joining the Valorant scene. Unless Boaster levels up his Sova and gives the controller role to Olof this is not a good long term pick for the team.
Regardless, respects to Olof for giving it a shot.
Nah. He doesn't even seem that motivated to keep competing professionally.
I don't know that much about Overwatch's pick system but if for some reason Riot adds an agent rotation system it'll result in a lot of hate from the community. I don't think they're gonna do it tho (...right?).
The only serious take here was the KRÜ one and I don't even think it's even gonna happen... Onur left the team and delz1k removed everything related to the org from his twitter. Unless they pick cracked players before they go to BR, KRÜ is going down.
Ofc it's a good step, the cascade works in other games and Riot taking the reference from those games means that they're working to solve the issue, I just think it breaking the agent select system more than it solves it. It just seems too early to make this kind of changes.
I said it seems clever in paper, but it's not really that much of a solution. Anyways this is the way devs test this kind of things, maybe the're just experimenting and if the community doesn't like it they'll take it back to the original system, like they did with diamond 3 - radiant 2stacks and the single immortal rank leaderboard.
The thing is Noyn reports on VCT BR, takes his work professionally, but he's less known and BR is not as relevant as EU and NA (unfortunately). Geddes gets hated on constantly for leaking stuff, reaches more people, and he's sometimes a cunt towards the community tbh.
While Noyn gets praised for informing the community professionally (posting about options, posibilities, and complete information), Geddes just posts leaks like it's nothing and it doesn't affect any kind of negotiations, or the hype.
The cascade system will result in more matches being dodged, specially in lower ranks. Sounds like a clever solution to instalocks, but in practice it causes more problems that it solves.
Maybe bc he's not a Sova main, he was filling it for the team and playing Jett on specific maps. He's definitely got the potential to be in a tier 1 roster and still perform, but he needs to get off the Sova role and a better leader that can give him the space to evolve. With Davidp he was just following strats and doing what he already knew, he's no better than when he joined Giants.
I was just typing that I couldn't imagine Heretics choking with the new roster. Then searched their match.
wtf are these guys doing
Yeah but the roster doesn't even look that good compared to the old Giants. It's probably not even better than Sampi. I wouldn't expect him to stay that long with Case, he'll be getting offers from better orgs.
xms, signed in early december. I guess they've been practicing with him for a month and a half already.
Thx for linking the vid. I find these roles a bit weird given what we discussed, but who knows... I really have high hopes for this roster. I expect nothing but improvement from them so if the roles in the video are the ones they will end up filling I'm sure they're comfortable playing them.
That and the fact that their matches were (subjectively) better to watch than Acend's. Every Gambit win seemed like they were showing they were getting stronger and stronger, even if at the Grand Finals it wasn't the case.
Man, ScreaM has been playing Sage throughout the whole year. I know his utility management and mechanics are not the best, but he played it consistently. Him along with a lot of tier 1 players are capable of flexing roles. Gamesense is somethig you learn by playing and these guys play every single day. If he doesn't have the gamesense right now he'll develop it.
He can have worse gamesense than a lot of players in the scene and still diff every single one of them bc he goes tap, gj, next round.
That's what I said in #4,
in the case that Riot made the Champion's animation only for that bundle we can expect the rest of the karambit knifes to have the Prime's base animation.
I know it's not Acend's fault, and we can't know if KRÜ improved enough to beat Liquid, it seems like they did to me but there's no way to know it rn.
Just saying it's unlucky for Gambit, it's not just "play better" every time a team doesn't perform how it's expected from them. There's a lot happening behind the game.
Definitely, I believe that with the addition of new agents and maps TL could be getting better and better, based in their versatility and comp variations. Right now, they seem kinda limited with the lack of viable agents on each map.
Nah they're not making a new one just for a battle pass knife we already got before. The only case in wich that happened was for the Artisan Sword, wich was a new sword model, and it only got an attack animation. We've already got karambits before and this one doesn't seem too different to include new animations.
me too brother :'(
Either of them could've won. Gambit were not in their best form throughout the tournament but they made it to finals. Considering the KRÜ game must have been exhausting, maybe with an easier semifinals match they could've been a tougher opponent for Acend.
I'm not defending Gambit, just being fair considering mental fatigue and that long series against KRÜ must've affected them, while Acend just shitted on everyone on their side of the bracket.
Don't worry, I was :)
Just wanted to be serious with #9.
Probably Champions' based in the esthetic of the knife. But in the case that Riot made the Champion's animation only for that bundle we can expect the rest of the karambit knifes to have the Prime's base animation.
But they didn't really fall at all, they really are up there with Acend to be fair. Either of them could have won equally.
Maybe bc they tried so hard, and got so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.
He's been performing kinda well with Jett, maybe not in a top tier environment but enough to cover the role. He's definitely capable of learning to control KAY/O's utility, it's kind of a simple agent to use. With the exception of Phoenix and Breach, he's already covering 2 roles, and Skye is kind of a Second Duelist in some maps. That's his best role and there's nothing wrong in practicing his Skye, it's an even trade between him and soulcas playing the Raze.
If haven't done that already it's either bc ScreaM needs to master Raze or he's not performing well on scrims with the agent and prefers to flex, as soulcas is more consistent on Raze already. Makes sense that he prefers to flex on maps like Split and Bind (probably picking Sage on Bind but who knows)
His stream is the Vault of Leaks, every time you open it you acquire near infinite knowledge about EU rosters.
Ok why is every leak getting deleted now?
Just saying it's literally the same.
Not saying it's ugly, I actually like the design of the karambit, but why does it look so similar to the bloodsport ak?
Vandal's leaked too

(jk don't take it seriously)
Yeah but keloqz was trialing with Movistar Riders at the time and Kolda was already trying to move to Guild and KOI needed the UCAM core to make this work, as they've already got the team synergy (that includes Sacake, the IGL).
Ofc it is, but Astra and Viper get picked a lot more (my bad I didn't meant "never picked" on Fracture, only on Split). I was talking from a casual player approach, not a competitive one. Mostly bc competitive play changes around the meta and sometimes defines it, while casual/ranked players play what they feel comfortable with, they're not trying to master Brim on Fracture like Gambit does.
She's been replaced by Glance, they announced it minutes ago.
Don't you worry, I've seen him all around the world, he's not agressive. He's trying to tell you it's jame time.
I feel like making Brim have full map range with his smokes makes him so much better than Omen, but giving him a little bit less range than Omen smokes (like 75% of Omen's range) could make him viable in maps he's never picked on, like Split and Fracture for example. (he would still be below Astra's pickrate on those maps). Brim doesn't need to be a top tier agent, just being at Omen's level would be ok, not even Viper bc she's a situational sentinel/controller.
Omen doesn't need a buff imo, not even making his kit faster would be necessary 'cause he's not that hard to use rn.
And about Phoenix I've made a whole remake idea on another thread.
That's a nice one too, but I think he wants to play in the main roster. The thing is he's gotta get picked rn before EU orgs start running out of ideas and try to take him out of CIS. He's too smart to be taken out of the region, I personally don't want to see CIS dominated by Gambit for the whole VCT this year.
But increasing the duration of his wall will not make him a smoke duelist, and they're not changing a complete ability like the molly for a smoke orb. Riot always tries to keep the abilities of their agents the same, they just change some stats or mechanics, not creating completely new abilities for an agent. Giving Phoenix a new ability means tanking it from a future agent. Keeping the peek flash is not a bad idea but it's also a reason why he's so unusable comparing him to e.g: a Yoru flash.
The objective is not to change his abilities for new ones or just buff them with damage, healing and durations, it's to make them better by adding new mechanics.
Nah there's no way they make him a smoke duelist, it's not effective at all only having 1 wall, and if his single wall is not even used imagine having 2 and not even using them for 5 rounds in a row. With the changes I proposed in my reply down below (#8, #17) I see him almost as a Raze/Reyna mix kind of role (a Yoru-like secondary duelist with vision/push denial abilities like Reyna and Raze have).
It's impossible for him to be even close to Viper only with a 7 sec wall, and Riot wouldn't make him a controller type duelist (i hope so).
The first of them to invest in the Valo scene is probably picking up arch as their IGL, no way they leave him out there.
But he's only training the sentinel role for Guild bc there are mixed roles in the team, we're yet to see on wich role he performs better.
But there's no need for him to come back in the same spaces, and pro comps are different to ranked comps in a few ways, so with a rework there's the possibility that he takes positions he could never have covered before.
The thing is you're comparing Phoenix with initiators, and there's no point of comparison between him and Raze, since she's a primary duelist alongside Jett and shortly, Neon. It would be fair if you compare him with Reyna and Yoru, wich are secondary duelists.
