yeah but Riot could have easily scheduled the games at 6pm and 9pm Shanghai time instead of 3pm and 6pm, way more people can watch it in Shanghai since it's in the evening and not the middle of the day and matches go from starting at like 2-3am and 5-6am in the West to 5-6am and 8-9am which is much more watchable. Also better for EMEA, only thing is that if there's like 2 3-map matches or a long tech pause the matches might end at like 1:00AM for some APAC viewers but that isn't even bad.
fr, though you haven't seen the atrocity that is tier 2 casters.
Stop calling a tournament a fluke just because you don't like a team. You can't argue that the team that played over 1000 rounds of valorant on stage in a few months and won 11/13 matches during Kickoff + Madrid (does G2 even count, since they already qualified? Then it would be 11/12) didn't deserve to win because other teams weren't as prepared as they were and on the premise that other teams could've maybe played better if they had been given more time. It's not like SEN were given a longer off-season or something, it's on teams to prepare the best they can for Kickoff and SEN did that.
Right, the team that won every match in Shanghai until their last two must have had a fluke run. They definitely just can't be a good team. Now technically, they lost to the same teams as 100T, just a little bit later, so you could argue that 100T deserved 3rd and G2 deserved 4th but literally nothing else.
stop the cope, they "shouldn't" have won anything they didn't. SEN won, fair and square, and GenG got WAY more lucky in that GF yet people on this forum seem desperate to claim a team "choked" when they lose. Yeah, GenG at Shanghai GF proves they are a good team right now, while SEN isn't at that level anymore, not that GenG "should've" won Madrid when they had a 2 map veto advantage + extra day of prep.
Because they brainlessly look at stats on VLR without even watching the game or understanding what happened. Same kind of overreactive people that wanted PRX to rebuild after yesterday or wanted SEN to drop Sacy/Zellsis just because they don't often top frag, they exist in every region.
He put the 16 best teams across regions, not the 4 best teams in each region, so yeah, it's the best of the best.
Great nominations, though I think you kinda slept on an IGL for the event category b/c some of them have been popping off ngl.
he won against G2 by two rounds, he could have easily lost. G2 stepped up in playoffs, and they've been consistently improving through Stage 1. KRU on the other hand had a hot streak and have now gotten reality checked.
I mean SEN lost Split to G2 9-13 after stomping LEV 13-3 on Split. Now 100T loses Bind to G2 8-13 after stomping LEV 13-3 on Bind. Obviously very different circumstances, but still kinda funny how that happened twice.
LOUD is the only Brazilian team to make it what are you on.
tf you mean? SEN faced the prime form of LEV, EG, and LOUD while other teams got free wins against two or all three of them. SEN didn't play to their potential, yes, but they got more unlucky than any other team in their group.
something NRG could never understand, actually winning an event
yes, if m8 drop a map or more than 10 rounds to liquid then TH quals.
Have to agree with this, SEN especially because they played over 1000 rounds on stage without any substantial break this year, they are very obviously going to be burnt out and not in form + have footage that can be antistrated. LOUD to some extent as well, especially because of their Visa issues and their awful comps.
I would add NRG as an underwhelming team honestly, yes they have an inexperienced IGL but that doesn't justify the level of play against LEV + they had almost two months to prep but played terrible valorant.
