I actually can see this happening
My guess would be for Champs to be in Beijing though, since China haven't had a Champs yet
(It makes sense now imo, since the start of franchising by next year we will have had LA (AMER), Seoul (PAC) and Paris (EMEA))

single elim balls to the wall tournament is actually a really fun (and expensive) idea.
People will say it's 'mickey mouse' or whatever from a quality of gameplay standpoint, but as a viewer it was one of the most enjoyable events imo

posted 2 months ago

nah, it's certainly possible. I'm just speaking on strictly next year

posted 2 months ago

I think lev have a decent chance, out of all of the teams left at champs they're probably the 'newest' roster (excluding TH and subs), so to get this far is an achievement. I think they will have a good year next year

posted 2 months ago

nah surely no way we get 2 EMEA events now that we have 4 regions to distribute over
I would think we will get:

Masters London
Masters Mexico
Champions Beijing

(following the pattern, either EMEA or APAC will miss out on an event)

I'm tired so maybe I'm just reading this wrong, but this is implying that there won't be an interregional game changers tournament this year right?

leaked by a now deleted instagram post from valorant indonesia. I'm sure someones recorded it

posted 2 months ago

Bro this year people were saying it's a fluke for the exact opposite reason.
I guess you can't win lol

posted 2 months ago

according to a not thorough google search only 40% of French people are proficient in English, so we most likely won't be getting a Copenhagen situation where they just cast in English to the audience. I also believe riot and valorant have a large production team/office in Paris so it would most likely be in French

Singapore should defo be a champs

posted 2 months ago

There was a post from the Indonesian valorant instagram account which basically leaked the 2025 season format video
(now deleted)

I was gonna put FNC for Paris but that would've been too much glazing

In the past when they've gone to slightly bigger venues but they've been empty for less hyped/non home crowd matches. It makes sense but I wish there was a better way to deal with it than just downsizing

posted 2 months ago

You my friend haven't queued London servers
(I can't even imagine what Paris servers are like)

posted 2 months ago

The thing is there may be more demand for CS than VAL, so don't get your expectations high enough to expect that kind of crowd. It's a fact that generally applies to Europe tbh

posted 2 months ago

should be early to mid sep - mid to late oct from the graphic they leaked

posted 2 months ago

nah this is diabolical 😭😭

posted 2 months ago

Paris is relatively central too, I like it
(Also we don't get Berlin for the 400th time)

posted 2 months ago

Well masters is going to be in June, so the only feasible place is between Toronto and Split 2. But idk if that gap would be large enough

posted 2 months ago

When is the EWC? The only time it can be is Nov-Dec, unless there is a long enough break in the main season

posted 2 months ago

This year AMER missed out on an event
Next year CN will miss out
meaning 2027 and/or 2028 have a good chance to have a LATAM event

This is my personal opinion (formed over visiting many times) but Glasgow is a very dark and corporate city. Imagine Gotham but way less cool

posted 2 months ago

I like the thought of giving smaller cities a chance, but Liverpool is NOT where you want an event held.

In the UK your best choices are (in order, by my opinion)

London
Manchester
Edinburgh
Birmingham

Luhansk is... interesting

I'll do you one better I'd show up as a coal miner

posted 2 months ago

if you don't show up in this I'll be disappointed

posted 2 months ago

I visited a few weeks ago, sure Toronto is a big city and has all the big city stuff, but the areas around it are really cool. But it depends on if you're a sightseeing typa person I guess

posted 2 months ago

sorry for not wanting the league to make a financial loss i guess

posted 2 months ago

ok 8 teams in Bangkok is a bit disappointing, but overall it's a W

posted 2 months ago

This might be a hot take for those that watch CS, but I think 3 events is enough (at the very least until there's more demand/money), imo the more 'majors' you add, the less the meaning of winning one has

posted 2 months ago

yup, its literally less than an hour flight (if you're lucky) I took it 2 weeks ago

posted 2 months ago

someone cooked here

posted 2 months ago

oh damn I see.
Now that we know champs is in Paris ill probably be going so that'll actually be useful thanks

posted 2 months ago

woah woah woah

January to October season?? that is a MASSIVE W

kickoff is fully double elim too?? thats like getting a regional masters to qualify for Bangkok. I actually really fw that

AND STAGE 1 IS SEPERATE FROM STAGE 2??? WE EATING GOOD

now THE ONLY THING that we need is more ascension slots. My take is take 2 full time slots and make them ascension. 4 Ascended and 8 perma, then we will have basically the PERFECT league.

posted 2 months ago

oh by exclusive I meant ones you can't get in your shop (like the arcane sheriff), but yeah I guess not having champs 2021 answers my question

posted 2 months ago

I think you forgot: be toxic

posted 2 months ago

Do you have every exclusive skin?

posted 2 months ago

woah, I saw this site like in 2013 I had no idea it still existed.
That was an unexpected throwback

posted 2 months ago

The thing is I read somewhere that the original contracts are ending this off season, plus we are finally getting to the 12 teams, so it might be the perfect time to re-sign 8 of the teams with the partnership contract, and just sign whoever was misbehaving from the original 10 as an ascended contract

posted 2 months ago

Stability is cool and all, but I think they could easily get away with 3-4 ascension teams instead of 2, they could still have 12 teams and make it work.

posted 2 months ago

Oh damn, I like the fact that you can get demoted if you don't make playoffs at all. But if a team can make playoffs in tier 1 surely they would be favourites in a tier 2 tournament like ascension? That also raises questions about the format, what if two teams don't make playoffs? then will there be an odd number of teams at ascension? that would mess up the format

posted 2 months ago

yeah sorry, I should've mentioned it's not for this year, but going forward.

but damn that would suck (unless you are an M80 fan), imo we need like 4 teams ascended to make that less of a possibility

posted 2 months ago

Given the new rules, it's theoretically possible to have no team ascend into tier 1 right? Or is my understanding of the rules incorrect.

Say 1 team makes champs, so they are locked in to stay. Then the other team battles through and wins ascension, wouldn't this mean all of the t2 teams played a whole year for nothing?

posted 2 months ago

imo it needs to be 4 teams that play through ascension and maybe 8 teams fixed in t1 for stability.
Ideally maybe it would be 6-6 but 4 is very realistic. 4 would be enough to make actual demand for orgs to invest in tier 2. but 2 slots given the current rules (where an existing ascended team may just stay in if they make champs) is clearly not enough, that means that we will have years where no teams are ascended, which is crazy to think.

posted 2 months ago

Ok yeah maybe the real sports comparison is far, but CS crowds are certainly the gold standard. I understand why Valorant is 'PG' or 'soft' as some would say (it's due to advertisers), but ill be real if they want the esports to succeed they need to realise that treating it more like a sport (ie playing into a more mature audience, which has money to spend) is a vital thing

posted 2 months ago

I think you just need to play more.
Maybe work on your mechanics a bit
