Besides that small miscalculation, this is super cool Nerdge stuff and I'm practically wetting my pants. I think the most obvious potential issue is 2 map BO3's vs 3map BO3's. A 2 map win should probably give more points than a 3. Alternatively, you can add a penalty for 3map BO3's wins as opposed to 2map wins but I kind of like how simplified your format is and this change could complicate it.

It might not even be necessary to account for 3rd map series since the rounds are being counted for both sides of each team and the losing region gets at least one 10 points bonus even if they lost the 3map bo3 so their region will still gain strength from that. The only issue with that I see is that in a perfect setting, a region who comes 2nd in a tourney might have more points than the 1st place if they won a bunch of 3 map series and the winning team won with only 2 map series and much fewer matches (especially the case for lower brackets). I'm just throwing stuff out there though without working out the kinks and details. Would love to see what other people pick up.

"EMEA
13 + 13 + 10 + 10 + 11 + 10 + 13 + 13 + 10 + 10 + 14 + 13 + 10 + 10 + 8 + 13 + 13 + 10 + 10 + 16 + 10 + 11 + 4 + 13 + 13 + 10 + 10 + 13 + 13 + 10 + 10 = 347 points / 2 reps = 173.5 x 0.75 = 130.125 + 30 runners’ up bonus = 150.125 Reykjavik points"

For EMEA's reyjavik's points, isn't 130.125 + 30 = 160.125? not 150.125? Would this make them higher than KR now?

the link in the 2nd paragraph for 100 Thieves in the article is for the inactive roster with yaboidre. Current roster has a different link with similar name

Guys, it's just group stages right now. For all we know, NA could drop out in the first round of playoffs in quarters.

Though I do think NA is really strong, let's save the "best" talk for after the tournament, not after a match or 2 in groups.

The whole game doesn't shift from 1 match. There are plenty of pro games where people dominate Split in attack and then the opposing team reverse sweeped them back on attack too. It's not the game. The vast majority of T/CT sidededness comes from the teams and how they play with the only real exception being split maybe. And even there, the win rates are nearly 50% there too on attack/defense across pro play if I remember the stat correctly

What about 100t now? πŸ˜‚

I hope you eat your words in a couple hours. I will if 100T lose

posted about 3 years ago

of course it was possible. These teams don't stay static since they last played lol. There would be no point to watching these matches if #1 just meant forever. Teams improve and the best team at the time of the match wins, and right now, we got a match!!!

Is a group D pickems not possible with the double round robin format?

D2 the last 2 acts. I play casually tho so I don't give gameplay opinions much

crowds in NA would heavily depend on municipal policies which in NA can be very limiting. in DC, it got as bad as they wouldn't recommend >10 people in a building unless absolutely necessary (like a hospital) at the peak of the pandemic. and it's only getting worse it seems before it gets better anytime soon and Riot needs to confirm stuff soon

NA isn't exactly doing a great job with covid rn

the value from recon isn't just getting a ping. It's about clearing areas. Once you've cleared a huge swath of space w/ a recon, you can narrow down the opponent's potential hiding spot, so Sova's still gonna be extremely useful on this map. plus, the line-up potential is insane with the amount of things you can bounce off instinctively kind of like ascent.

Wait.. But by that logic, emea hasn't been able to beat sen this year either so that would put them at about the same strength... 100T and emea

posted about 3 years ago

fair enough. Idk any other s-tier players they could sign right now tho that would change things up for them like yay or tenz did for their respective teams

posted about 3 years ago

Sinatraa also played duelist for Sen when they needed him (like in icebox). Still, I agree that he doesn't really fit their comp needs unless he really changed some stuff up in the last 6 months. I don't think he can be signed right now with the kind of PR he has tho. Not to a tier 1 org at least...

posted about 3 years ago

Not gonna lie, this is looking kinda rough for TSM

posted about 3 years ago

sinatraa plays duelists too, not just sova. Maybe he's improved his player pool to include smokes too in his 6 months absence. It's unlikely but a not that unlikely they'll pick him up

posted about 3 years ago

they really might tho. He's their only chance at getting an Ace-level player to seriously contend for winning LCQ (if NA wins berlin)

Very informative, holy moly

wtf, I thought I was seeing shit. I swear it was vivo vs 100T, and now it's Havan liberty? that's the 3rd time it's changed lol

Envy going straight to the top 8 πŸ˜‚

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah... I'm at a loss for words. The lack of empathy to say something so toxic. Then to think he wouldn't see it in a chat of 600-800. Then to come to vlr to post it again.

It's baffling the amount of attention some people crave.

posted about 3 years ago

They wouldn't ban split since 100T wouldn't pick it either in a bo3. No need to waste your ban on a map both teams don't pick.

posted about 3 years ago

Are you? They're not even doing that bad and you have this little invested in them? They clearly have things to work on so it's only up from here. They're a month away from berlin and 3.5 months away from champions. I don't expect them to win Berlin (top 4 would be good), but I expect by champions to see them rivaling Sen or whoever else is the best by then.

posted about 3 years ago

don't be silly lol. of course not.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah, I think this tournament definitely showed that they gotta go back to the lab w/ this comp. It's just not as useful the stuff KAY/O brings

posted about 3 years ago

no idea. i read somewhere they might still make it if EMEA wins berlin? That would put them in the same position as TSM, but I never verified this info

posted about 3 years ago

he does really well when he plays duelists in ranked games

posted about 3 years ago

he also had a map in that envy game where he top fragged. Everybody has bad games, including tenz. I definitely agree that Steel is top talent even tho the community likes to make him (and hiko) the butt of the joke a lot of times

posted about 3 years ago

Well, having support players is one thing, but having the actual support in-game is another. 100T have had issues in the past with making sure Asuna's entries are adequately supported with proper spacing, utility, etc. Having Ethan with him has really helped both of them shine brighter and the team has most recently benefitted from that success by making it to Berlin. I can't wait till they figure out more and eventually (hopefully) even rival sentinels for the all-around best team in the world.

Breeze is amazing when it clicks and it does for me too. Some people just don't get the map yet imo

I think yay and Envy are still fresh at being a top level team. Yay did a lot of early Tenz things today against 100T that got punished (pushing CT or just going too aggro without backup), but I think those kinks will be worked out in a month of prac and review. They look damnnnn good otherwise besides some map pool things here and there. All in all, I'm really hyped for NA's potential cuz it's only up from here

posted about 3 years ago

Same lol. I was mad confused coming in here ready for some nonsense

posted about 3 years ago

It probably will be a 3-1 in all likelihood

posted about 3 years ago

I'm gonna go out on a fucking limb and say it: 100T 3-2 SEN somehow πŸ₯΄

posted about 3 years ago

Wait, so they're in a very similar position as TSM was in NA?

If by the end of this bracket, only a Berlin win would let them in LCQ, then FPX basically the EU TSM

posted about 3 years ago

top 5

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah, he's not wrong lol. 100T still need to prove themselves and win here imo
