My bad, i only started watching CSGO from 2019 , haven't seen this guy in high tier competition :). For me, he actually came from no where, nobody expected him to be this level

Yeah too much people hates him because they're snowflakes. When CS tournaments were online, people was like "we want Lan back! we want trashtalk and stuff!". But then Lan is back, and this guy gets all the hate for being one of those hyped players...

Well it's true that between players he has that reputation and the coach bug will always be there as a subject for those players.

In the community it's different: HLTV literally gets flooded by people getting triggered when he starts his show saying that "he's over the line" or "he shouldn't be doing that, it's disrespectful", when that's the nature of Lan events
