Why are pro players not flexible with agent roles?

Im not sure but valorant is the kind of game where role changing shud be comparatively easier where abilities are the only part which realistically changes. But i have seen pros who are so reluctant and only play a particular agent(not even flexible in their agent class) and potentially jeopardizes their team and their career

I guess its because all agents need to be played at difference pace. Subroza used to do entry with phoenix but he has to play slow when he plays omen because smokes are so much important even at later stages of the round. That's just my opinion

Because agents correlate with playstyle. Some agents are better suited to those who are very aggressive while others are suited to those who play passive, calculated, or even lurk type of plays. When you have agents such as duelists and agents such as controllers on basically opposite ends of the spectrum with regards to play style, it's kind of hard to flex from duelist to controller.

Even within the same agent class, there are pretty notable differences and require hours of playtime in order to make the agent abilities second nature to a player. Agents such as Jett differ a lot from Phoenix despite being in the same class just because Jett is far more aggressive with her playstyle. Adding on to the Jett point, Jett is an agent typically used by AWPers just because she can escape out of any situation if an AWPer misses the shot.

It's because that agent is the best that's compatible with the team.
Just imagine telling TenZ to play sova, Sick to play cypher, zombs to play jett, shahzam to play sage, and dapr to play astra.
Pretty sure they can use the abilities of each agent, but they won't win master that way.

If it's still hard for you to understand.
Imagine you tell Biden to exchange job with McD employee.
Yes Biden can wash dishes, make burger, make fries but it's not as effective as the trained employee.
And the other way, McD employee can run country just not as effective as other, or maybe worse.
