Japanese voice acting is top tier, I've compared scenes of sub and dub and honestly the dub voice actors pretty much ruin the moment with lack of emotion. Also when I heard Killua's VA in English my ears were bleeding bruv.

I won't lie, some animes sound better in dubbed than subbed.

Examples: Code Geass, Death Note, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop (fun fact: the VA of Spike is Steve Blum; the voice of Brimstone)

But I agree, post 2008 dub is actually AWFUL, like Fairy Tail.

The sub is almost always miles ahead but there's always been and always will be exceptional dubs that match the sub's quality: Space Dandy and Kill la KIll are two shows with incredible dubs that aired after 2010.
