It's a LA culture problem. Worked Europe, china, and north American league scenes - the NA one has a huge issue with inflated self and laziness compared to the other regions. Until the esports scene moves out of LA, it'll continue to fail.

Why practice when you can get high and eat takeout? Why push yourself when grifters blow smoke up your ass because it's the town of egos and bullshit sold to make money with minimal effort or work? The culture takes talent and kills it for greed.

Has nothing to do with NA born and everything to do with that city and the personality types it enables and habits it produces in that scene.

EDIT: to be clear, I'm not against work/life balance and think a lot of habits in esports are unhealthy and problematic/abusive to the players. Unfortunately, in the market you're competing against very unhealthy habits and at that level, the margins for error are ripped open in comparisons. But I also think the LA culture in esports needs a big reality check and their blank check books taken away because they're fucking the entire system.

They prefer loving sen tenz batchest and watching every video of his on youtube, claiming he is the best ever because he has ranked highlights (fucking lul, same with prod and sinatraa) whilst also never having the correct expectations.

I think NA have the same problem as BR in League of Legends.
People started complaning, showing some ''theory'' about 8h is enough to be good and training more will only mentally wear off making you play even more worse
In Brazil there's a lot of issues in League as example, people after their training go to eat sushi, have fun, and that's ok because if they do more than that is considered abuse in nowadays, in countries like China, KR, JP, people are used to work, to get slap if they do something wrong, being called a shit if you are being a shit in game, etc.
All these things you cannot do in NA or BR country because now people cry for everything and are moralistic.

This is pretty true.

However, I heard rumors that VS trained 12 hours a day and are not allowed to play other games or see their families and shit.

They are contractually obligated to pretty much grind Valorant non stop and they still lost to American teams.

There is no doubt that a player that WANTS to practice 12 hours a day, that only WANTS to play Valorant will be better than a player that plays 8 hours a day.

It’s just hard to find people with a dedicated and strong mental mindset to truely grind 12 hours a day for 6 months. That kind of mental fortitude isn’t trained or praised in NA and it’s honestly part of the reason every other region has caught up to NA.

NA might have the best players, but if you’re not practicing with 100% motivation, less skilled players will overtake you.

Because 8h is only scrim training (work train), team training, tatics, etc.
+4h of Individual train (Ranked, Aim Routine training, etc)

That's why they train 12h+
But in NA or Any other country if you train more than 8h It's already considered abuse.
It's the same thing as "Study says human need to sleep 8h every day" but at the same time there's a TONS of studies that proves human can sleep 4h-5h, polyphasic sleep, anything.
Problem is in NA and BR these things are already embedded in our culture about working 8h more than that is abuse and you can even use "law" to cry about it, some country LAW doesn't approve more than 8h work, like VS did (training 12h) legally. in KR there's a dark side about these things but they don't cry over it and use law unlike us from western.

Yeah but there are also studies that show that productivity decreases after 6 hours. I can only imagine it nullifies when close to 12 hours.

In football, they prioritize Quality training. Fun, exciting, not boring. Over quantity. They don't train more than 8 hours and that is including gym.
