Brazil -1 LATAM +1 spots

In the Furia vs KRU game Kun Agüero literally said that as they did better than brazil this year what Riot is gonna do is to take an spot from Brazil and give it to them. So 1 Brazil, 2 LATAM and 1 for LCQ

It was an affirmation, and knowing how he is, he is very likely to leak things. I’m 100% that’s what Riot told him.

I’m honestly not quite sure about if that is the right decision, LATAM should definitely have two spots, but I don’t think Brazil is the region to take it from, I feel like Japan would be a better option

Riot don't want to decrease the number of slots from any region. The logic it's to give one more slot to LATAM and BR keeps the same too.

You can’t just make 17 teams, numbers have to make sense, if you give it to someone you gotta take it from someone else

Maybe you forgot that next year we're going to have MORE REGIONS

That’s even worse? What does that have to do?

He literally said “take it from Brazil and give it to us” I don’t really think it’s a debate

Probably total teams numbers increase to 24, like cs major

I think it'll happen due to oceania, india(SA), and middle east. Maybe China but it's unlikely.

Brazil have only TWO (2) SPOTS.
LATAM have ONE (1) SPOTS
Last one is decided by LATAM vs BR in Last Chance. FURIA won so they got into worlds.

Yeah, that’s what hat happened this year. What I’m saying is that Kun literally say they were gonna take one of the Brazil spots and give it to LATAM.

2 spots LATAM
1 Brazil
Who ever wins LCQ, most likely BR

#12

Nah, they can't do that because Brazil playerbase is like, 5x bigger than LATAM.
Champions ranking doesn't decide slots from a region, what decides is PLAYERBASE. (How much competition is happening in a region is how slots are decided)

I’m not saying they should or they should not, I’m saying they are most likely going to

Man! I agreed to give one more spot! But to take one from BR is nonsense! Latam has just 2 good teams (KRU and Australs), and those too teams are goog because they are always playing in BR servers...they are always playing agaisnt BR finnest! Brazil was just unlucky and went out of focus because all that shit that happened. It wasn't good for NA and BR at all.

That’s exactly what I think, other regions deserve to lose the spot better. But what people don’t understand is that is not my opinion, I’m 95% sure that was a leak and that Riot told him that

Thanks Spanish Manito! Muchas gracias! When I said that before, people say I'm crying and giving excuses for the bad performance Brazil had after that stupid punishiment we got from RITO GOMES.

If they did that it would be a stupid decision, but OK, it's up to them to decide it.

Japan is still a growing region. They had awful performance on the first year of valorant and yet you want to kill the region right immediately. Wow nice. With the viewerships they gain on their matches, I doubt Riot will kill the Japanese region. The right call is to make teams of 24 on next year's champions.

How is taking one of the two spots they have killing them? LATAM is not a growing region? Why would JP deserve two spots better than LATAM? And don’t say viewership because Spanish streams peaked 300k today.

Actually 0 sense

I think it would be better if BR has the equal amount of slots as KR, JP and LATAM. EMEA AND SEA consist of a lot of countries and the competition is very tight there so it would be logical to give them more slots, whereas LATAM seems to be a one team region. idk about NA though they seem to be severely underperforming this time around.

#28

LATAM is not more of a “1 team region” than Kr or JP currently. But yeah I agree

#32

This is not gonna happen. LATAM is a 1 team region, doesn't even come close. With all the investment coming to brazil next year we will dwarf LATAM in size, money and competition, forget about what Aguero said, it's not gonna happen.

#35
Mortadelo

Riot can’t assign slots based on the investment Brazil is gonna get next year. They are gonna act based in what happened this year. If you make Br super teams and become top teams you’ll get your spot back for the next year, that’s how it works

What happened this year? LATAM has KRU, the second best team is Australs that is worse then the top 4 BR lines that are about to come up. How can you say LATAM is doing better? It's a one team region.

#36

In 2 international competitions, brazil has not gone beyond groups. That says a lot. 0/3 br teams

#44
Easy_for_MWZERA

Frags

Still those 3 teams are better then every other LATAM team besides KRU. Do you think the lvl of competition on international events would improve if we had 2 LATAM and 2 BR? Of course not, Australs is worse than FURIA, VKS, and VK. That was proven on the LCQ. Adding up the new orgs and new investiment comming in we will have at least 4 teams better than the LATAM 2nd best team. What this guy is asking doesn't make sense.

#45

In the same way that speaks badly of BR, and not of LATAM, the fact that 1 LATAM team is greater than 3 of BR is disappointing for your region. And just wait until next update about the slots :)

#50

Frags

It is disapointing, yes, but it's the truth, KRU is better than the BR teams, but the 2nd seed australs is worse. You know havan is trash and Furia swept australs 3x0 in the finals being the third best BR team. LATAM is a one team region and you can't accept that. That's a fact.

#46

And you forget that Australs beat FURIA (groups matches) and Havan in the LCQ :)

Not happening Latam players already plays in BR server, their seed is just a secured spot

I think it's silly to change slots based on 1 year performance, besides lcq is already a way to balance the number of slots according to the strength of each region
