teams choosing maps

is there a real downside to picking maps that are biased towards one side? for example Lotus which is very clearly T sided - since your opponents choose the side you will 99% of the time being on defense side first and risk being at a huge deficit at half

either you are confident enough in your inferior side or you think your dominant side is better than your opponent's.
