yikes, this is really bad considering dota and csgo smashed viewership records this year around and LoL also set a new record albeit only slightly higher than previous.
That said the final will probably get increased viewership for an hour or so because of drops like the Vision Strikers vs Full Sense match.

Well the average viewers are around 450k for champs untill now
For the csgo major this year it was about 600k
Considering this the viewership isn't that bad because this was the first major in two years the hype for it was unreal
In terms of peak viewers, we have to wait for playoffs

Also I consider this year's PGL major stats as an outlier due to factors like the 2yr gap and it being the first crowd lan in an covid era. So excluding that previous CS major had peak 1.3 mil viewership while Reykavik finals had 1.1 mil. There's nothing to worry

newer esports should have advantage since its should grow but somehow it is not even with content creator and drop. maybe its the shitty drop should have been a skin drop instead would get alot of viewers.

asian viewers or EU viewers or NA viewers it doesnt matter . if its watchable and understandable like cs it would be much easier to endulge in it and enjoy to watch it. valorant champions full of drama and miss alot of TTours kill timing unlike cs major.

Fortnite was never going to be a prominent esports game. Some games aren't supposed to work like that. While valorant has been created as an esports title. Also Fortnite's dip was due to all it's major content creators leaving it due to it's poor state. While for valorant more and more big creators are adopting it. Valorant has had more viewers than CS this whole year other than the 2 weeks of major. None of the current big esports title had their peak in year 1.

Lmfao no big esports title had their peak viewership on their first year. Masters Berlin had Sentinels and G2 the 2 biggest teams eliminated in quarters while the finalists don't have a big fan base compared to other orgs thus the peak was low. Also Masters aren't majors, those are qualifiers.

Plus you are comparing the peak viewership of the finals to the group matches along with the fact this was CS' first major in 2 years along with crowd during a covid era, ofc it would have high viewership but it's still and outlier. Previous major peaks were at 1-1.3 mil while iceland had 1 mil so chill out.

That's full on copium. Even if you discount the major, cs still has better viewership stats. Valorant viewership only beats cs during international lans, and we have like 3 of those this year.
In region tourneys barely get views as high as cs tier A/B tourneys. Cs has only few months at best in which no such tournament is played.

With the return of CSGO tourneys and many other esport title tourney, Valorant being only a year old is actually doing great in terms of viewership and it hasn't yet been established since many people are just witnessing how the first year is. On top of that many people kinda expect set teams to qualify so group stages are not the main focus (given many matches have been amazing and close).

It's constant at 450-500k with Viewership decreasing around ig after the first map of the last match. Playoffs should be better ig around 850 peak finals might touch 1mil or it might not. Still as of rn viewership's pretty damn good. Definitely better than Berlin. As for Reykjavik only the Finals had huge views 1mil not sure
