i wasnt watching in the prime optic days
how good was chet
like was he actually cooking or carried by fns
Personally, I think its a rare case of the IGL doing more than the coach. Before and After Optic, Chet didnt have amazing results.
A lot of times when watching Optic and later NRG (esp), it felt like rounds where they won it was cause of FNS' extremely good calls. How much Chet helps to make those calls happen I think we'll never know, but it's clear to me FNS was always the main mastermind in any team he's in.
Is Chet a bad coach? Probably not. But he never seemed Mini or Potter level.
lots of people say FNS and Chet were a very good duo, and obviously they were, as they ended up as the best team of 2022 with LOUD, but I think what people tend to forget a lot about that optic roster is that FNS went to 2 internationals already WITHOUT chet, and they ended up finalisting against gambit (should have been the first 2 trophy holders in val), and in champs when they lost it was very obvious that their illness was very badly affecting the team. So while sure, chet was great with fns, fns made a name for himself before and (we'll see if) after chet, while chet's year after fns was 2024 nrg, and before he wasn't doing anything crazy with coaching
but again this is all speculation and based on results and no one really knows who did what, so take it all with a grain of salt
