Thoughts on Beijing? I'm going there later this month.
If you ever are near Kunming the Stone forest was pretty amazing to visit. The terra cotta warrior museum was also a great experience. They are pretty far from Beijing though sadly. I can't recall what sightseeing we did in Beijing besides the obvious trek to the Great Wall as it was quite a while ago I went, but the previous two were pretty memorable.
overrated as fuck i didnt reallyyy like the food theres better places. Its a weebit overpriced cuz its a tourist trap and make sure if u go highend u make sure to check recent reviews and some places dont sell what they say they do. like this sea cucumber place said they sold them from dalian but it didnt have spikes so obviously it was from somewhere with much warmer climate
but the pollution its actually all gone.
old town is nice ig but depends what ur into. if ur into history is kewl and stuff if ur into artifacts all the good ones are in taiwan lmfao. Great wall is very fun
personal preference but when i go back i prefer going to like hometowns or non touristy places. i come from northern china liaoning specfically so not that many tourists.
however i did really like gz and shanghai albeit i got scammed in shanghai and brought into this shady jade place but it was like 12 years ago.
travelling is hard as a foreigner even if u speak chinese get alipay or wechat pay and ur set :3
also get a vpn. all the free ones dont work but tbh each time i go back at lesat in the major cities it feels more western so if u wanna truly experience china culture ig go more rural or lesser known places
have fun and please share how it is
also explore north and south and experience the different culture and economic divide its very kewl.
