For pc there are 2 versions, regular gameplay and game pass ultimate

Regular gamepass gives you access to most of the library

Ultimate gamepass give you access to the entire library plus day one releases and xbox cloud gaming

Most promos give you gamepass ultimate, there are more pros and cons so I would check the app and a review to get the entire rundown

When you redeem it it should tell you which one you get, just open the xbox app and click on gamepass it'll tell you which one you currently have and when it'll end

you can activate it whenever i think, i had my laptop for about 2-3 months before redeeming my free gamepass on my laptop (same laptop btw, nice ass laptop)

I just bought game pass, it's ~9 USD for me and its pretty much what it sounds like, you get a ton of games as long as you pay for this monthly subscription. Definitely worth it, it has BO6, Battlefield 4, minecraft, sea of thieves and lots of other games.
