See whenever your blood vessels in tissue injures , it activates hemostasis pathway . Depending up on the vessel injured it could be a primary cloth or a secondary clot . In low pressure vessel like veins primary cloth is enough to stop the blood. In primary clot when the vessel is injured sub endothelial matrix is exposed which contains vwf which then bind to gp2b3a receptor of platelets which is called adhesion . Adhesion activates the platelets and starts aggregation which is when platlets bind to other platelets via gp1b-9 receptors and this process goes on . Plus there is other cells also caught in this so it have many type of cells but majority is platelets and rbc. Hemostasis is achieved and clot is formed .
