How I would fix Franchising

TW: allat

First of all I'd make 6 regional leagues, for more orgs to join and more viewer representation. They will be: NA, SA, Europe, Middle east + Africa + Turkey, Southwest Asia, Northeast Asia, and China

Each region will have 12 teams but bottom 1 gets relegated in ascension and is not allowed to disband from t2 until their franchising contract is up
Some smaller regions like META and NA can have 10 teams same relegation rules

Countries in NA are, America, Canada and Mexico
SA: is all of LATAM + Brasil
META: Middle east, turkey and Africa
Southwest Asia: India, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore
Northeast Asia: Mongolia, Korea, Japan, Philippines, THK (taiwan and HK) and Vietnam
Lmk what u think of these leagues

For Masters 1: Top 2 teams qual from each region, so matches are double elimination with a upper and lower bracket

Masters 2: Top 3 teams qual, 7 tables of 3 and top 1 quals out of each group for a SINGLE elim bracket.

Champ: Top 4 teams qual. 3 tables of 7 top 3 move double elim bracket and Top 4 in each table play each other to find out the last team, So after group stage there are 10 teams in playoffs. Double elim bracket

LMK if u want me to include ORGS to add to each region

also plenty of other issues. where is china? how is it balanced to have turkey sending 2-4 teams every tournament? mexico is in NA, but all of LATAM is in SA? thailand in northeast asia, but vietnam is in southwest?

I added China, Vietnam and Thailand go the same distance south. Mexico is a country recognized in north America. Yes LATAM is majority SA

all of central america is considered NA. by your logic mexico and central america should be NA, while the rest of latam goes to SA. splitting latam makes no sense though so may as well send mexico and central america to SA too

I want Mexican val to have a chance its gonna be impossible to field an all mexican team in LATAM and do good due to the sheer amt of talent there

I think northeast can just be called East Asia as that's already a well-known name for the region, and I guess something like SASEA or SSEA or SEASA or SESA or anything combining south east asia with south asia

Nah I like my way better its easier to understand, because many ppl alr correlate East Asia with korea and Japan

As a geography enthusiast, I have a bone to pick with this.
Southwest Asia would be referring to the middle east, Northeast asia would be referring to east asia + Eastern russia...
SSEA and East Asia would be the best ways to separate the two

Hey wait take a look at a map real quick and explain why Thailand is in northeast and vietnam is in southwest

philippines and vietnam shouldn't be part of northeast asia lmao
the whole northeast southeast concept is so fried
just make it southeast asia (philippines, singapore , malaysia, thailand, vietnam, indonesia, cambodia , brunei , laos +other actual sea countries) and east asia ( south korea, japan, mongolia, taiwan , hong kong, china , macau , far east russia)
(you can remove china from this tbh)
just like the good old days

How to fix franchising easy solution:

Get rid of these franchise shit and bring back open circuit like in 2021 and 2022

and have most orgs drop their division cuz there is no incentive to stay???? The reason so many orgs invested and got into valorant in the first place is that they knew that riot would switch to a league format, sooner or later

#33

And yet we have orgs like Bleed, EG and MiBR don't do their job properly. Fck those partnership. Incentive to stay? Have Riot create a long schedule that has short offseason then most orgs would still be invested

not as easy as u think

so 12x6 = 72 teams, all funded by riot, all given franchising rights, all guaranteed by riots contracts? That shit will cost more than the overwatch league

You should really take some time to analyse the financial side of this. This is really unrealistic and unnecessary for the scale of the valorant esports scene right now.
